Painting The Roses Red with My New Copics!

So I was looking into getting alcohol markers . I bought some Promarkers and I really liked them so I bought another set (vivid and set 1) . The only problem was I didn't have many blendable colours . Then I bought a set of 30 old Trias someone was selling. This gave me a few pastel colours and some skin colours and also 30 fine nibs that also work on the Promarkers . I really love the streakless colouring. I have faber castells and could never get them to not streak so don't know what I was doing wrong! Anyway to cut this long story short I frequent ebay quite a bit and came across a seller in France who was selling a complete set of  Ciaos and Wides with a couple of sketches thrown in. They are barely used (they said they did 2 pictures) and still nice and juicy. So with my heart in my chest and waiting til the last minute to bid I nabbed them for less than 1/3 of the rrp :) Bargain lol. Then for my birthday a friend bought me the case for them :) All my copics and promarkers fit in it nicely at this stage although I am not sure if I will keep all the wides. Will see how I feel a bit down the track.
Anyway now that I am finished rambling about that I get to tell you that this weeks project for Eclectic Ellapu needs to contain playing cards :). So I scoured the net for an image I could use. I fell in love with one but thought $4 might be a lil much for a digi when you can get rubber for that price. So I kept looking. Originally I thought maybe I would do the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland but then I found some Free images at From Old Books. That links takes you directly to the page with the image I used but there are many many more :)
So now I have coloured this with a combination of copics and promarkers and am using an Xcut Ornate Frame die to cut it out in my Ebosser. Here is a list of colours I have used:
Roses, paintbrushes and Card 2; R27,  R29, E40, E41
Card 5; R59, RV69
Card 7; Promarkers Olive and Pear Green
Stockings;  E35, E33
Faces; E00, E01, E02, E93 (cheeks)
Tree; G99, G95, YG95
Grass and bush; YG63 YG67, Olive Green, G94, G28, YG91
Shadows on all cards; C5, C2, C0
Paint pots; C5, C3, Y21
Next I grabbed Cosmo Crickets 6"  Odds & Ends stack. I grabbed two co-ordinating pieces. The green stripey piece, the coloured image and the piece for iside the card were all cut using Xcuts Ornate Frames. I edged them with R29.
For the cream floral piece I used a Martha Stewart corner punch and my B000 for the edges. Argh my kitty is trying to help me type lol.
Next up I grabbed my Tim Holtz Tattered Banners Sizzix die to cut two banners the same size. I used white cs which I coloured with R29 to match the rest of the card.  The sentiments were printed out at the same time as the images. I cut around them then coloured them with B000, there was still some R29 on my fingers and it came off on the first one I coloured so I decided I best put some on the other one as well so they matched :). I added two layers of foam tape behind the middle of each banner after I taped the sentiments on.
For my base I used cream cs that I edged with R29 again. I used double sided tape to add my Cosmo Cricket papers and then a single layer of foam tape on my image. I then added the banners. I was in two minds as to whether or not to add flowers or not. But as you can see I have left it for now :)
Below are a couple of images I have coloured with my copics since I got them.
Not very good at hair yet that's why she isn't finished. I attempted hair on the second one as you can see :) also a mouth... Shoulda left it but live n learn hey?
The second picture here shows three different card stocks. Neenah Solar White and two I got from officeworks here in Australia. I have to say the cheaper two cardstocks performed way better than I thought they would. When I pull some more paper for my cupboard I will do a post on it and let you know the names of the brands :).
Thanks for Stopping by.

Clementine Pattern Play Day 1

Well I guess everyone knows by now how much I like to combine my challenges. This card rolls a few into one and includes the Pattern Play class I am doing at Online Card Classes. I started with this sketch from Freshly Made . . .
I started by picking my papers, I did this with two thoughts in mind, two green challenges, a monochromatic challenge and a friendship card all rolled into one. Anyway the papers I chose are from the Cosmo Cricket Clementine stack.

I then used the Tim Holtz Butterflies On The Edge die on the pp with the leaf shapes. Then I trimmed it down to fit across the top of the card and taped it to the back of the darker green on green circle pp. I then used a strip of white cs as a colour break.
Next I cut the lightest paper with another movers and shapers die, I used the larger of the two tickets. I stamped inside the ticket with Mowed Lawn Distress ink with a Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz sentiment with my new fiskars stamp press. Not sure what set as I grabbed a bunch of random stamps to craft at a friends lol. To make the words stand out a little more I embossed them with Ranger Superfine clear embossing powder.
I then grabbed a Hero Arts stamp that to stamp on the darker green pp. I used Pine Needles distress ink and embossed with the superfine again. I then taped the butterfly/darker paper onto my white card base. To add the ticket I used foam tape foe some dimension.
I thought it looked a little plain. So I decided to bling it up with some bling from the bottom of the stamp set. Everything is better with a lil bling!
If I was remaking this card I might have tried swapping the lighter herringbone  pp with the darker green circles. But at least I followed the rules for choosing paper :)

Cosmo Cricket Odds & Ends Thank You Card

So last night on my way to bed I had a brainwave... I bought two Cosmo Cricket stacks that really challenge me and are way outside my comfort zone. I grabbed my Odds & Ends stack and created a super quick Thank you card :)

I cut the girls out and layered them on light brown cardstock. I was originally going to put them straight onto the lighter pp but it was too boring so I grabbed the red pp as well and added a strip behind the pics. Then matted that onto another peice of the red. I had some strips leftover so created the bottom strip under the sentiment.

The sentiment is from Hampton Arts from the Foot Long Thank You set. I stamped my thank you in Timber Brown Stazon to match in with the brown tones. I used some Lifestyle Crafts Oval Dies (one from quickutz holly jolly and the other from oval die set) to create the ovals with my bug. I used some foam tap to adhere it to the card and add dimension.

This card is way outside my usual style so I really hope you like it. It was a personal challenge to myself to make it :)

Just got some new loot :)

Exciting!!! lol

Anna's Craft Cupboard is having a sale :) So I did a little shopping and today it came :)

What did I buy lol...
I bought paper stacks :) Five of them ... lol I bought Cosmo Cricket Clementine and Odds & Ends 6x6 stacks. Looking at them they are the perfect style and colour to make my mum a present :) Very vintagey and in her colours too :) I was making a present for her last year that was a bit of a challenge... Her fave Colours were red, aqua and blue. Not a scheme I am overly familiar with...

I also got three KaiserCraft stacks. Lullaby, So adorable. Candy Lane. Wow I liked more in it than I thought I would :) I bought it to make things to sell with... lol Last but definitely not least Pink Gelato. Wow I am blown away by this stack. Seeing it online I was very ho hum... Wasn't sure if I liked it or not so I grabbed it thinking at least I could make things to sell with it... But it is absolutely gorgeous! So pretty. Swoon! I also got a couple of the 12x12 sheets :)

I picked up some bargain packs of Basic Grey Brads. Um all I can say is I like to have a large variety of colours... *blush* Sweet Threads, Hello Luscious and Lauderdale.

Three gorgeous mini Prima stamps. Butterfly, Alla Prima and Romantique. The best value alpha sticker book ever! 2147 stickers on seven 6x12 sheets jam packed on edge to edge! The Girls Paperie Jubilee set. Four sheets are alphabets the rest words, borders and tags. Totally awesome! The bottom ones are not yellow, that's just how the pic looks on the back of the pack lol.

I allso grabbed a couple of December 25th pages and sticker collection, a couple of pink gelato. Some Jubilee from the girls paperie, and a couple of the Pink Paislee Butterfly papers I have been trying to get forever! Really want the 6x6 pad but hard to find lol.

Soooooo I finished sorting all my stamps, wowzer it only took two days :). So Now I think it just might be time to have some fun!!!! A reward for all that work :). I will see what I can come up with and get back to you later. Bye for now....
