Stretch Your Stamps 2 DIY Stamped Letter Embelishments.

G'day, this is my second card for day 10 of Stretch Your Stamps 2 at Online Card Classes. As I already had the red cs out I decided to go red again lol. Thank goodness for my Ebosser I can tell you, as I didn't have what was used in class to make the letters I had to do the old cut the cardstock four times trick lol. For this card I used stamps from Paper Xtra, Vermillion Archival ink, Matte Accents for all the letter gluing and Xcuts Slimline Alphabet.

Stretch Your Stamps 2 Easy Watercolour Outline and Debossing

So we are at my second card from day 5 of Stretch Your Stamps 2 at Online Card Classes and I have chosen to use an Mpress stamp set, same flower again I know lol. It looks good what can I say?  I used Distress inks in Pine Needles and Aged Mahogany for the flower and Tumbled Glass for the border. I have used some Hemtique Twine and a Buttuerfly border punch I have for the itty butterflys. Really need to start writing on my dies what brand they are . . . I coloured the butterflys with Aged Mahogany so they tied in with the flower and sentiment from Whimsy Stamps.

Stretch Your Stamps 2 Resist Part 2 Bonus

So the last card was resist and not wanting to waste the negative I decided to use it to make another card. Waste not want not lol. Along with some of the products I used on the last card I also added a Kaisercraft Stamp and some I Am Roses coloured with distress stain.

Stretch Your Stamps 2 Resist Part 1

Still on day 2 of Stretch Your Stamps 2 at Online Card Classes. This card uses resist with paint but my paint wasn't cutting the mustard so I switched to embossing powder. I used Hero Arts embossing powder, Dried Marigold Distress ink, versamark, spellbinders In'Spire die, Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Scalloped Hearts, A bunch of hearts within a heart die that I can't remember the name of off the top of my head :( and Glossy Accents. At 3-4 cards a day I'm fallig well behind but I have loads more to post :)

Stretch Your Stamps 2 Multi Layer Emboss Resist Part 2

Hiya, I am doing Stretch Your Stamps 2 over at Online Card Classes, it's running right now if you want to join in. The beauty of these clsses though is that you can do them whenever you want :) This card uses all the same products as the last one so I won't repost them here. The only difference is the die is from mpress and I've added glossy accents over the top and scattered some sequins about the place lol

A Little Gelato Love with Fleur Botanique

Hi everyone. It's that time again, time to post a new card for Eclectic Ellapu. The theme this week is Butterflys and Flowers. I got this stamp free with a magazine from England... So glad it was in my local newsagent! I had to have this gorgeous stamp. The magazine is Cardmaking and Papercraft and it's from the Fleur Botanique collection..

I coloured the background using gelatos like a watercolour. The flowers are done in Guava and Bubblegum for the pink and Lavender and Grape for the purple. The leaves are Pistachio, Green Tea and Lime and the background is Metallic Mint.

I used a spellbinders nested scallop die for the next layer, for the pp I used a lavender gelato wash to give it a hint of purple and then I cut a white square to mat it all on before adding it to my pink star dream card base.

I then stamped some butterflys in archival ink and water coloured them with the gelatos. I couldn't decide if I wanted to stamp them with black or coloured archival, so I did both and then chose the black ones :)

I took some white I Am Roses and coloured them with the gelatos to match the flowers in the background. The colours came out much darker on the flowers though lol. I misted them with homemade shimmer mist for some sparkle.

Finally I used a Tattered Banner by Tim Holtz to add my sentiment which was actually part of a journal block and coloured just the part I wanted with Black Soot Distress Marker. I added some Guava Gelato to the edges and smudged it with my finger.

So that's my card for this weeks challenge :) It's Mothers Day in may and so I am going to give this to my mum :) Her colours are red and aqua so I hope she likes this anyway, Haha!

Kissed By an Angel with KaiserCrafts Made With Love

It's the Purple teams turn over on Eclectic Ellapu and this weeks theme is use a die cut heart. Mine ended up getting very hidden so I added some extras lol. I used a whole bunch of die companies on here . . . Hope there is no rule against mixing them up! 

I started with KaiserCrafts Made With Love Collection (I snapped this up on clearance at a LSS), selecting the papers I wanted to use. I then did some colour matching with my Copics and Promarkers and stamped Connie Fongs Kissed By An Angel Sweet Pea stamp with Memento ink onto Neenah Solar White.

I then die cut the image and my first two layers using Spellbinders Ornate Artisan Tags and Accents. Now here is where I go into trouble as you will see in the pic. I hadn't actually crafted at home for a while and didn't realise my craft sheet wasn't totally clean :( As I edged my image with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink I swiped up some blue off my mat :( For the bottom layer I snipped off the long end pieces before I inked the edges as you can see in the pic. I used foam tape on under the image and double sided tape under the matting piece.

 Next I die cut Lifestyle Crafts Heart Insert surrounded by a Nesting Lace Heart die from red foil cs. I saved all the little hearts for other projects as well as adding some to this one. I had to use the metal shim in my Ebosser to get this die to cut through the thick card stock. I glued the heart down with Matte Accents.

Next I used a Sizzix Sizzlit die called Ribbon Insert. My cat loves Sizzlis, if she sees one around she thinks it's fair game and claws it! Good thing they still work with claw marks in them :)Very hard paper to take a pic of! I inked the edges of this piece with Milled Lavender. I used foam tape on this layer as well.

To hide my mess I grabbed some I Am Roses flowers and coloured them with distress stains in Milled Lavender, Wild Honey, Spun Sugar, Squeezed Lemonade and Barn door. I then spritzed them with homemade pearl mist (come on a girl's gotta have some sparkle, right?).

Next up I cut a piece of pp for the background and rounded the corners of the pp and the card base as well. I inked the edges of both with Milled Lavender and adhered the background with doublesided tape. I used matte accents to adhere my flowers and twizzles to the card as well as the cute lil hearts I saved from earlier.

Not totally sure how I feel about this one. I do know I think my colouring is coming along nicely :) Practice makes perfect right? Well till I kill it by swiping the wrong colours about the place! Flowers make everything better is becoming my motto I think . . .

Baby Shower Decorations Made with SVG's from SVG Cuts and My Grafico using an Ecraft

Well I posted a couple of the boxes I made the other week for the baby shower and now I am going to share with you some pics of the table and banner :) All coloured plain cs id from Canson and the white is HP printer cs.

 I used MyGraficos SVG Favors Gift Box by Sherry K for the Treat Boxes and Baby Boy for the onesie and cake topper backgrounds. I cut everything but the butterflies with my ecraft and the butterflies were cut on my Ebosser using lifestyle crafts dies. The Cheesecakes and Butterfly cakes also have a cupcake wrapper from Lifestyle Crafts around them. I had to re-size them by snipping quite a few bits off the end because they are bigger than our standard muffins lol . . .

So that was the baby decorations I made for My cousins Baby Shower. Happy To announce the baby arrived safe and sound in January! Now I know its been a long time between blogs lol, sorry *ducks head and blushes.* Truth is with School holidays and Christmas, a family holiday and a baby being born blogging got left by the way side. DT duties start again next week and I also have a few other projects to post that I've been working on so I am going to at least 1 scheduled post a week lol. That's my goal anyhow!

Mayzyarts Digi Jareth With a Little Creative Chemistry

Well it was my sisters birthday last week and so I had this digi from MayzyArts for a while now and I knew I wanted to use it when I made her card. If you click the link it takes you right to the digi :). I should have made it bigger than I did to make it a little easier to colour lol. I am a newbie with my copics so small bits are a real challenge. Also learning to colour a bit slower lol. I added some Atyou Spica to the blue in the cape for some sparkle and to make it look a bit mottled. On the upside this fit right in with my DT's theme this week!  Inspired by a movie  at Eclectic Ellapu.

Anyway I coloured Jareth with a combination of Copics and Promarkers (mostly copics except or the greys don't ow a lot of darker copic greys yet!). Funnily enough I didn't really have the colours I wanted to use in either so made do with what I had lol.

Then I went through two full sheets of glossy cardstock trying to get the background just right lol. I used a technique from Creative Chemistry 102. I then stamped some stars in platinum stazon from various stamp sets.

I used the regular pouncing technique with the same colours for the second piece to give it a bit of contrast and cut a piece of star dream paper to add a little shimmer and sparkle.

I used another CC102 technique to colour the various Idea-ology pieces. I really learnt a lot from these classes. Way more than I learnt in CC101 lol.

I stamped my sentiment onto one of my rejected background pieces using stazon, and then used a lifestyle crafts labels die to cut around it. I had to try to be very precise as there was only a little corner of the piece that had the colours I wanted on it lol. I then cut a piece of plain cs as a mat and went around it with B00 and then chipped sapphire distress ink.

To assemble the card I adhered everything with doublesided tape except the sentiment, that has foam tape, and the idea-ology pieces are adhered with Matte Accents (I added ribbon to the key). I added some pearls that I coloured with B18 to match the card. I added a layer of glossy accents to the crystal ball and when that dried I added another layer for dimension :)

I have to say this card was a huge challenge for me to make. I especially didn't want to delve into the darker greys and blacks too much as I thought this might make everything rather manish and as the card was for my sister I didn't want that lol. It took me three or four days of serious work to get this one done! I will add the colours I used when I find the list haha!

A Little Mom's Garden With Some Antique Rose Thrown In For Good Measure!

So my mum hasn't been feeling to good lately. A couple of months ago she had a spell in hospital and since then she hasn't felt the best . . . I wanted to make her something to cheer her up, raise her spirits a little. I could have just bought her a bunch of flowers but I like to make her things she can keep because she really appreciates them and likes to keep them on show :)

 I was lucky to get a smile, she doesn't like having her pic taken much lol. I used the roses in the Mom's Garden svg kit from SVG Cuts, click the link to go right to it :) Mum loves turquoise and red. Not an easy combo for me! lol I used my Ecraft to cut all the roses and leaves from Canson cs in red, cream and green. I then cut 3" stars from fundamentals 1 to add to the bottom of the roses to give them a bit more greenery. I edged the cream roses with peacock feathers. I then used clear Smooch Spritz for a little sparkle.

My ecraft blade was getting quite blunt after all that cutting so when I tried to cut the vase it kept pulling at the perforations. So instead of making the vase I bought one and covered it in pp from KaiserCrafts Antique Rose 12" paper pad. I inked the edges with some more peacock feathers and added some pretty lace trim tape I coloured with peacock feathers distress stain. I used some metallic trim for some bling bling bling!

I then grabbed a bunch of I am Roses well roses of course ;) I tried several mediums for the red, smooch spritz, dylusions, stains, in the end I went with the distress stains. I added a good amount to each one then I spritzed with the clear/pearl Smooch Spritz to get the colour to move and blend. I adhered them with matte accents, added some bead sprays and some twizzles... It all sounds rather simple but let me tell you it took quite a few hours to make! 

My mum loved it! She said it's Beautiful, but she kept asking me what the occasion was lol. I said it's just because! lol Anyhow I hope you like my first go at the Moms Garden Flowers :)

Pattern Play Day 5 Paper Weaving With Crate Paper

For this card I used leftover strips from my first attempt at day one which I haven't posted yet lol. They just need sentiments. The strips are from Crate Papers Random paper pad. I used a scrap piece of cardstock to adhere my strips to as I weaved. I really liked Jennifer McGuire's Bonus day card she made by just rounding two corners of her shapes and decided I would do that on a larger scale. I followed this through with the card as well. The rounder is just one from my local Office Works store.

I kept wrecking the banners I was making for this card so in the end I totally changed what I was going to do and added buttons instead of the Enamel accents I was going to use. The buttons on the banner are tied  with pink Hemptique twine that I got in a cool multi pack of 10-12 colours. (I learnt I need to keep them in a zip lock back to keep them clean! They were getting filthy rolling around in the craft box I take to a friends lol).

I also added a little heart button in the corner. Wish I had had the twine brain wave before I glued it down lol. Anyways woohoo I did all 5 days of Pattern Play. I still have the other attempt at day one to blog about too :)

Pattern Play Day Three Using Antique Rose Papers

For day three of Pattern Play I decided to try out Kristina Werners tips. I chose a paper from the KaiserCraft Antique Rose collection and cut it into 2cm strips. I used an off cut from another card with some washi tape to make a straight edge to help me layout and adhere my strips of paper.

 

 Next I grabbed a Cuttlebug Cut and Emboss folder. I am not sure what it's called sorry :( but it makes some lovely labels. I grabbed a subtle pp from the antique rose pad to make my label. I tried using distress stain to highlight the raised edges but that didn't work very well. Later I used some snow cap paint dabber mixed with a little water on the raised edges. The sentiment is from Inkadinkados Chelsea Sentiments.

Next I decide it looked a little plain so I cut a butterfly from the same pp as the background with Tim Holtz's movers and shapers from Sizzix. I chose a piece that was mostly blue so I could bring that colour in a bit more instead of it just being a little bit on the edge. I added some orange bling to the centre with Matte Accents as my Multi-Medium Matte ran away lol. I felt it could do with that little bit extra . . .

I used a small strip of  foam tape to raise the butterfly off the label a little bit. I was very overwhelmed with how bold and bright this paper is, but I have to say I think I like how this card turned out :)

12 Tags of 2012... Game on!

Hi everyone :)

Well I wasn't sure if I would participate this month as I have a bit going on at the moment. Study travel etc etc lol. I was also having a creative block when it came to this months techniques as I neither have honeycomb paper or a matching stamp and embossing folder.

So after thinking for over a week I decided I was going to use one of the butterfly movers and shapers for my card. Then last night I decided that dried marigold would be my colour of choice. But I didn't know how I was going to do the embossing technique....

First I tried various markers in embossing folders to see how that worked. I tried marvy markers, pitt big brush, pitt artist and zig. None worked as with large areas the colour starts to pull away from the recessed sides. So the best result I had gotten was with the Faber Castell Pitt Artist Markers so I decided to try again today... No go it just wouldn't work with the larger intricate design.

I have some more examples to show you what I ended up doing :). First I covered my white cardstock in distress stain. For my card I used Dried Marigold. Then I used my cuttlebug border folder on the edge. *Tip; if you are going to do this while cs is still damp from the stain use a full size folder! After I did this I took my Pitt Artist Marker in Orange Glaze #113 and carefully coloured over the raised flourish.

On this example I used tumbled glass as the background, the embossing folder is the cracked texture fade and the marker is Pthalo Blue #110. I have left the middle bare for now as I am not sure what kind of card I will make with this as yet :)

The next one is made with wild honey and am not sure of the name of the cuttlebug folder. It's a leafy flourish at any rate lol. I used Pitt Artist pen in Leaf Green #112. Again leaving the middle blank for embellishing.

The next two examples were done with differently. The first was done with dried marigold stain, embossed with the same folder as above and then I used my distress ink tool to add ripe persimmon ink to it. I them misted with shimmer mist.

This last one was done with aged mahogany stain, then I shimmer misted and blotted to activate the ink and tone down the colour a little. I then shimmer misted again and ran through my cuttlebug with the Cuttlebug Clockworks folder. I used my ink blending tool and the aged mahogany ink pad to swipe over the top of the embossing.  Absolutely Love this one :)

Back to the card lol. The flourish on the edge is an embossing folder from cuttlebug from the Organic Flourish set. So pretty! The background butterflies are from recollections and are stamped with a Big Brush Marker the same colour I coloured the flourish.

My butterfies are cut from the movers and shapers butterflies. I layered 7-8 pieces of paper and ran them through. I also cut each butterfly from grungeboard. I adhered a butterfly to each grungeboard piece with matte accents. I then folded each butterfly wing along the body so they were creased well. I used a small amount of matte accents along the body of each butterfly and layered them up. I waited til they were dry aand then fluffed them up lol.

Lastly I created my sentiment with Lifestyle Crafts Label dies. The back piece is coloured with the orange glaze big brush marker. The top coloured with dried marigold stain. I then used a Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous sentiment stamp from Mini Classics and my big brush marker in orange.  I layered the pieces together with foam tape and thats it Card done!! :) Just in time too. Sorry for the few pics, was scrap day at a friends and it was raining so my camera stayed at home! lol
