Copic Cardstcock Test For Aussies

 So I have been doing a little testing with my Copics on different cardstocks easily available in Australia. I did these when I first got my copics so my colouring is a smidge better now I hope lol. These are pretty messy though as I was more focused on blendability.

Quill White 200gsm

 Quill is my least favourite, sucking up a fair amount of ink and having the least smooth blend. I also found if you worked it too much it bled fairly easily.

Neenah Solar White

It's not perfect but Copics do blend on here fairly nicely and it can take a bit of ink. With all my samples I used a Marker Pad or Bleed Proof  Paper Pad underneath.

HP 200gsm

 This was surprising to me, I bought this to try some of the wet techniques from Tim Holtz' range of media. I wanted something other than manilla tags all the time. Anyway the copics blended fairly nicely on here with minimal bleeding. This cardstock is the whitest "white" that I tried as well(X-Press It also being very white), with neenaah being the creamiest.

I have also used Copic Xpress-it. I just don't have a comparison pic as I tend to hoard this for cards as it's the most expensive at $5.50 for 10 sheets($0.55 each).  I did buy the Neenah Solar white from the US, it was $5 for 25 sheets ( $0.20 each). Both Quill and HP can be found at Officeworks in Australia. HP Colour Laser Copy Paper was $25.50 for 250 sheets ( $0.10 each) and Quill was $12.72 for 100 sheets ($0.13 each).

As a side note I also have Promarkers and have used them on all these cs's. I have found surprisingly I like them best on the HP cardstock . . .

Baby Shower Decorations Made with SVG's from SVG Cuts and My Grafico using an Ecraft

Well I posted a couple of the boxes I made the other week for the baby shower and now I am going to share with you some pics of the table and banner :) All coloured plain cs id from Canson and the white is HP printer cs.

 I used MyGraficos SVG Favors Gift Box by Sherry K for the Treat Boxes and Baby Boy for the onesie and cake topper backgrounds. I cut everything but the butterflies with my ecraft and the butterflies were cut on my Ebosser using lifestyle crafts dies. The Cheesecakes and Butterfly cakes also have a cupcake wrapper from Lifestyle Crafts around them. I had to re-size them by snipping quite a few bits off the end because they are bigger than our standard muffins lol . . .

I made two of each of the rocking horse and pram, my mum liked them so much she too a pram home with her :) Here is a pic of the whole table.

So that was the baby decorations I made for My cousins Baby Shower. Happy To announce the baby arrived safe and sound in January! Now I know its been a long time between blogs lol, sorry *ducks head and blushes.* Truth is with School holidays and Christmas, a family holiday and a baby being born blogging got left by the way side. DT duties start again next week and I also have a few other projects to post that I've been working on so I am going to at least 1 scheduled post a week lol. That's my goal anyhow!

Project Organisation

Hiya everyone :)

I am currently doing the Project Organisation Challenge Course at The Scrap Rack. Wow it has some great ideas on organisation. I have already "purged" 250 - 300 12x12 papers. Most of my papers are sorted into colours already :) so that helps. I have a christmas draw. I also have in a separate place baby and birthday themes.

I have started with my stamps though as these are the things that usually end up spread from one end of my table to the other. I think I currently have 30 or 40 sets on my kitchen table. EEEK

I have not started cataloging them yet. I have just started sorting them into themes. I had them in an overflowing box lol. This is what's in my box after doing at least that many sets if not more yesterday. I originally had them sorted by brand. Now they are sorted into themes ready and waiting :)

To find what I wanted I had to go through ever single stamp set. Very hard when they were jammed in and there were a bazillion on top lol. This invariably led me to pulling out loads of stamps for a project just so I didn't have to go back again!

So far I have these themes:
*Wedding/Love
*Birthday
*Baby/Children
*Alphabets/Numbers/Month sets
*Christmas (that's a big one lol)
*Halloween

I have these waiting to be sorted to be rehomed. The theme specific sentiments are with their respective stamps.

*Butterflies/Bugs/Animals

Then I have a bunch of  of stamps I don't know how to categorise lol. They include some that have a mix of everything, sentiments, flowers, swirls, crowns, guitars, bugs, you name it they have a bit of a few of them lol... I can do a flower/sentiment/bug/animal section I guess but what about the rest? Argh lol

One step at a time.. I am sure it will come to me. I just don't want to take my stamps out of their respective sets and store them specifically by theme lol. I like to keep them with original packaging so that makes it harder.

I am storing my stamps using sheet protectors and three ring binders. Three to four ring work best as there is less pull on the protective sheets. Now I only had two binders like that and one is being used for Lifestyle Crafts and Quickutz Dies, so as a temporary measure I have used book rings :) Five rings for each separate set.

Four sets of inkadinkado in a sheet protector works brilliantly! Others I work with til I get a fit I like.  The smaller recollections and stampendous sets I store sideways four in a sheet protector. I do them back to back so there is a front side and backside. I use a small amount of repositionable tape inside the top of the sheet protector to keep the stamps in in case I knock my folder over.

At some point I will stick the stamps to backing paper so they don't move about but I am trying not to bite off more than I can chew right now lol..

I can tell you that I can already see that having my stamps sorted by theme as much as possible is going to help me greatly! I can just grab a folder for the specific items I am looking for rather than searching through my brands to find what I need! Less searching time and more importantly Less Mess!!!
