Watercolor For Cardmakers Intermediate Day Four Lost and found Details Card

While not as soft as the teachers card in class I still love how this card tuned out :) I made my own custom colour mixing Windsor and Newton Cotman pans.

I used Kaisercrafts Leaves stencil, WRMKs Corner Chomper, Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink on a Stampendous Birthday Wish sentiment and some bling.

Watercolor For Cardmakers Intermediate Day One and Two - Wet On Wet Card and Varigated Wash

Here is the start of the cards I have made from class :) This one was made from well . . . rejects. I had been testing each of my paper to find one I could possibly do the wet on wet technique with before I got a pad of Arches, none of them worked properly but I was able to salvage some by cutting out the butterflies :)

I used Lifestyle Crafts nesting butterfly dies to trace to make the wet on wet butterflies, Spellbinders lace ovals and Archival ink that I stamped off with a KaiserCraft sentiment.

Stretch Your Stamps 2 Ombre Effects

Onto day 2 of Stretch Your Stamps 2 at Online Card Classes and today we are doing a little ombre. I used watercolour for this but you can use any colour medium. I used Windsor & Newton Cotman watercolours in turquoise. The background stamp is from Fiskars, white embossing powder from Hero Arts, a Spellbinders die cut in my Ebosser and the sentiment is from Kaisercraft.

Pattern Play Day Two Using Prima And Porta Crafts

 Day two of pattern play and chose to emulate Jennifer Rzasa today. I borrowed a friends stamp set because it had some lovely big giant flowers in it. You are supposed to stamp one of each of the designs but they don't actually line up so instead I stamped four of the second largest flower on Prima Inamorato pp from the Cavalier Collection.

I then fussy cut the four layers to make my dimensional rose. The stamp set is from Porta Crafts 3D collection. I guess it's just called rose or something as it doesn't have a name on the packet . . .

Next I decided I wanted to use the leaf stamp to fussy cut some leaves. I used more Prima paper, this time I used Rue 88 Cafe Diamant and then fussy cut them. I used Jet Black Archival for the flower and leaves.

I layered the rose using foam tape between each layer as well as underneath. The leaves are double sided taped down. The sentiment is stamped with Deep Purple Archival.

I couldn't help it. I am back in the bling thing lol. I used it once and now it's probably going to be on everything! Everything is better with bling!

KaiserCraft Lullaby Baby Card

I made this card using the sketch at Freshly made again and combined it with the challenge at Eclectic Ellapu. This one was quick and easy as most of the work was done by the Kaisercraft Lullaby paper pad itself :) Here is the sketch . . .

I chose two papers from thee stack and a co-ordinating scallop die cut from the back of the pad. I also chose a  scalloped saying. I mounted the circle on a Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Circle Doily with foam tape. I also used foam tape between the doily die and the pp.

The Baby Boy stamp is from the KaiserCraft Lullaby stamp set. I stamped it with Archival ink in French Ultramarine and then quickly covered with ranger superfine embossing powder and embossed it. 

I added a strip of white cs between the scallop and pp and then decided the whole thing looked to plain and added some bling with Matte Multi-Medium. Some were sticky backed but they just would not stay put lol. I really like this sketch! It makes making a card a breeze!

Creative Chemistry 101 Day Eight Finished Projects

I have two projects for day 8. One is bright and cheery the other is in more earthy tonesof brown and orange. A nice Autumn card considering it is Autumn in Australia right now :) maybe that's why I keep reaching for the orange. Could also be all the Harmony day learning the kids have been doing at school lol.

My Autumn colours card with a grungeboard flower. The leaves were cut with my ecraft from book pages and distressed.

The butterflys have had some triple thick painted over the top. It did react with the inks of course but I likes it :) The sentiment is from the Fiskars Butterfly Dreams set. "Butterfly kisses and birthday wishes"

And yes . . .  More Bling lol. Can there ever be too much?

Purple Rain

Another day another journal page :) I started this one with a ceramcoat gesso background as the page before has sharpie on it that of course bled through.

I wanted to see what I could do with distress inks on gesso and still retain the colour. The colours came out muted but that's a lot to do with the technique. I covered the whole page with milled lavender first. I then used a makeup sponge to add seedless preserves around the edges. Using the same sponge I moved the colour around and pulled it towards the centre. I  repeated with dusty concord. I then repeated again with seedless preserves and dusty concord. Make sure it dries well before you do anything else as the colour wipes right off when wet.

Now if I was smart I would have used a fixative spray at this point lol. Anyhoo next time! I used a purple pitt Big Brush Marker to add some raindrops all over the page.

 I had a piece of cs that I had stamped off on with a fiskars cherry blossom background stamp. I had used some Windsor & Newton watercolour paints and shimmer spray to see how the cs would look and it looked pretty lol and because the cherry blossoms and been stamped with distress they ran a little.

So I took the cs and stamped my Blockheads Stamps faerie on it. I spritzed this with even more shimmer mist to make it run and bleed a little to fit in with the raining theme. I grabbed a tag from my KaiserCraft Magic Happens tags and stamped the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous sentiment near the flourish. I trimmed a little off the other end as it was too long. Again I spritzed with shimmer and let the words run a little.

I used a large Bella fabric flower and a smaller Prima daisy in the centre of this. both folded over. In hindsight I probably should have just cut them so they layered flatter. I used foam tape to tape my fairy down and pop her off the page a little, securing the tag behind her.

Then came the hard part. Well not hard just the bit that took the most time... I got my bling on and blinged over 150 1.5mm rhinestones all over the page with Multi-Medium Matte... Best glue ever! To make even more glistening raindrops.
