Captivated By Silence Goth Card

Ok, so I got an order for a goth birthday card the other day and this is my attempt at one. It's good because this month for the Purples at Eclectic Ellapu the focus is Lady's Birthday. After trawling through my stamps I found this Sweet Pea stamp by Anna Marine called Captivated By Silence, unfortunately I'm not sure they have it anymore . . . I coloured her with copics.

As I wanted some matching papers I had to hand create one to pick up the purple in the colouring, so I took a ruler and copics in 100 an V09 and alternated stripes. I also used a piece of paper from Kaisercrafts Violet Crush 6" stack. The doily behind the image is a die from Lifestyle Crafts, all other dies are from Spellbinders, including the D-lite sentiment which I cut from black cardstock and coated with Glossy Accents and adhered to another hand coloured piece of cardstock. The flowers are from I Am Roses and also coloured with copics. I also used plenty of foam tape between the layers for some dimension.

Stretch Your Stamps 2 Stamped Die Cuts Part 2

So the other day when I was out and about I made another stamped die cut card from day 3 of Stretch Your Stamps 2 at Online Card Classes. I wanted to make a male version so I switched up the colours and the die cuts I used. I used Distress Inks in Fired Brick, Mowed Lawn, Frayed Burlap and Vintage Photo. I used stamps from Fiskars and Mpress as well as dies from Lifestyle Crafts and spellbinders. I also used a mini stencil from Heidi Swapp.

Stretch Your Stamps 2 Layered Heat Embossing

Woooohoooo I made it to play day! For my first card for the last day of Stretch Your Stamps 2 at Online Card Classes I used a Kaisercraft sentiment Rangers with Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel in Platinum as well as their Red Embossing Tinsel. Lol short and sweet . . . My only advice is don't drop your panel while it's still hot, don't ask how I know ;)

Stretch Your Stamps 2 DIY Stamped Letter Embelishments.

G'day, this is my second card for day 10 of Stretch Your Stamps 2 at Online Card Classes. As I already had the red cs out I decided to go red again lol. Thank goodness for my Ebosser I can tell you, as I didn't have what was used in class to make the letters I had to do the old cut the cardstock four times trick lol. For this card I used stamps from Paper Xtra, Vermillion Archival ink, Matte Accents for all the letter gluing and Xcuts Slimline Alphabet.

Stretch Your Stamps 2 Layering Stamped Images

Hi, I have finally arrived at day 10 of Stretch Your Stamps 2 at Online Card Classes. Fot this card I used Stampin' Spots in Gable Green and Green Galore as well as Archival Ink in Vermillion and Versamark. The stamps I used are Heidi Grace Family Traditions, Printworks Elegant Patterns and TPC Studio Floral Collage. I also used Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Circles and Hero Arts White Embossing powder.

Stretch Your Stamps 2 Sketched Outline

Hi again, this is my last card for day 9 of Stretch Your Stamps 2 at Online Card Classes and I freely admit I cheated. I am not very good at freehand drawing or sketching so I used Stampin' Ups Two Step Stampin Simple Sketches for this card. I also used Stampin' Up Spots in Certainly Celery, Almost Amethyst, Blue Blossom and Mellow Moss. I also used Cottage Cuts Tea time Doily, my Stampamajig (that things the best investment ever lol) and Black Soot Distress Marker.

Stetch Your Stamps 2 Watercolour Stamping

My last card for day 8 for Stretch Your Stamps 2 at Online Card Classes and then I best get hopping on projects for the last three days haha . . . I used an itty petal stamp from the See Dee's stamp set and Fired Brick Distress Ink as well as Archival ink for the sentiment from Mpress. This is a super super quick card to make if you're in a hurry and you can cheat and just use a heart stamp if you want lol, I was tempted!

Stretch You Stamps 2 Ombre Repeat Stamping

I am back to the See Dee's stamp set again for this card from Day 8 of Stetch Your Stamps 2 at Online Card Classes. I have used a combination of Prima and Distress Inks for the Ombre as well as versamark and Hero Arts White embossing powder for the flowers. I used a mini version of a technique from Watercolor For Card Makers for the banner. Only a few more days to get posted yay lol.

Mayzyarts Digi Jareth With a Little Creative Chemistry

Well it was my sisters birthday last week and so I had this digi from MayzyArts for a while now and I knew I wanted to use it when I made her card. If you click the link it takes you right to the digi :). I should have made it bigger than I did to make it a little easier to colour lol. I am a newbie with my copics so small bits are a real challenge. Also learning to colour a bit slower lol. I added some Atyou Spica to the blue in the cape for some sparkle and to make it look a bit mottled. On the upside this fit right in with my DT's theme this week!  Inspired by a movie  at Eclectic Ellapu.

Anyway I coloured Jareth with a combination of Copics and Promarkers (mostly copics except or the greys don't ow a lot of darker copic greys yet!). Funnily enough I didn't really have the colours I wanted to use in either so made do with what I had lol.

Then I went through two full sheets of glossy cardstock trying to get the background just right lol. I used a technique from Creative Chemistry 102. I then stamped some stars in platinum stazon from various stamp sets.

I used the regular pouncing technique with the same colours for the second piece to give it a bit of contrast and cut a piece of star dream paper to add a little shimmer and sparkle.

I used another CC102 technique to colour the various Idea-ology pieces. I really learnt a lot from these classes. Way more than I learnt in CC101 lol.

I stamped my sentiment onto one of my rejected background pieces using stazon, and then used a lifestyle crafts labels die to cut around it. I had to try to be very precise as there was only a little corner of the piece that had the colours I wanted on it lol. I then cut a piece of plain cs as a mat and went around it with B00 and then chipped sapphire distress ink.

To assemble the card I adhered everything with doublesided tape except the sentiment, that has foam tape, and the idea-ology pieces are adhered with Matte Accents (I added ribbon to the key). I added some pearls that I coloured with B18 to match the card. I added a layer of glossy accents to the crystal ball and when that dried I added another layer for dimension :)

I have to say this card was a huge challenge for me to make. I especially didn't want to delve into the darker greys and blacks too much as I thought this might make everything rather manish and as the card was for my sister I didn't want that lol. It took me three or four days of serious work to get this one done! I will add the colours I used when I find the list haha!

Sketchy Fun with KaiserCraft Seaside Collection and Creative Stamping

So recently I found a store selling out old Kaiser Collections and a lady was selling stamps from various magazines and things.  I bought 3 KaiserCraft pads one being the Seaside Collection. I love the colour combo in this pad but it's not one I would normally pick for myself.

I coloured the boy and girl image that came from a stamp set from Creative Stamping mag with a bunch of Copics and some Atyou Spicas as well (my new favourite toy!) on White Quill Cardstock from Officeworks;

I then chose some co-ordinating ages from the KaiserCraft Seaside Collection 6" pad. I decided to use a square card base so cut my layers to fit this. No scientific measuring lol, I just went with what I thought looked good!

I then grabbed two die cuts from the back of the paper pad and used foam tape to give them dimension. I also used the red Atyou Spica pen by copic to add a little sparkle on the red bits.

I also added some bling to give the card a little bit of a lift! I meant to cut a hibiscus flower with my ecraft to add but I forgot! Naughty naughty lol... Here is a pic showing the dimension!

Fast Cards with Best of K & Co Too

Today I want to show two cards made from one piece of K & Co paper. They are super fast to make and you can do this with any paper that has different image squares or rectangles on it. For example I have some KaiserCraft Christmas papers that have square images that I could do the same thing with.

First step is to choose which squares you want to highlight and cut them out with a craft knife. Make sure you leave enough uncut to make you card background. Next up choose what colour your card base and mounting squares will be. Make the mounting squares slightly larger than your chosen images and tape them together. Tape your background to your card base and then add your squares with double sided tape. For the first card I found squares with a travel theme, for the second card I used love themed ones (not as obvious as the travel ones). I can either add  sentiments ot leave as is and stamp the inside of the cards.

Ecraft Angry Birds Card Using FREE Svg's

 A young relative of mine had a birthday a couple of days ago and he is really into angry birds. I searched the net and found a bunch of angry bird svg's free by The Lady Wolf. As his cake was going to be the red and yellow birds I decided I would make those two as well. I opened them in SCAL 3 and resized them all as one before cutting and pasting each different colour section into  new window. In hindsight I wish I had made them a little bigger lol. Also cutting two birds at once was fun because then I had to sort out their respective pieces lol.

Having played the game before I wanted the background to look a bit like the game as well rather than using patterned papers. So I used a free grass svg from Pigtails and Paper Trails and another free svg from Bird. I'd seriously recommend checking out what else these lovely ladies have! I just saw the grass under the clouds Bird has. I hadn't grabbed it yet :O lol. To assemble the back gound I cut a piece of blue cs to the same size as my card and taped it down. I used tape on the straight edge of he grass only so I could slide a cloud down there. I taped the clouds down and then used foam tape on the birds and banner to pop them off the card a bit :)

Valentine Heart Card

I thought I would share a card I made for Valentines. Most of the work has been done by using Lifestyle Crafts heart shaped dies :)

My base was made by folding red cs and carefully lining up the fold with the top of the Nesting Lace Hearts die so that instead of getting two hearts I retained the fold. Next I cut a black Nesting Scallop Heart followed by a red Heart Doily (actually that die is what started this card :)) , an itty bitty Nesting Eyelet Heart and then a regular Nesting Heart.

I used some stamps but of course at this moment forget which brands lol, . . . I stamped the base layer and the top layer with Fired Brick distress ink. The sentiment was stamped with black archival. I coloured some I Am Roses with Dylusions and then sprayed them with home made shimmer spray.

I make the spray I use the most with Pearl-Ex in Macro Pearl, Micro Pearl and Pearl White. I have a 100ml bottle I use to make up the spray  because I use it so much lol. I have to say I usually add double Macro Pearl because I love it's bling bling bling effect lol. As Pearl-Ex needs a binder added I usually start with warm water and add either  Gum Arabic or or a feww drops of Glossy Accents and give it a good shake before adding any pearls.

I finished the card by adhering all the layers together with double sided tape, placing the flowers and adding some twizzles (the flower stems twisted around a paintbrush handle or an awl) and gluing them down with Glossy Accents. To finish off I added some Black Enamel Accents spots.

My only beef with the card is next time I make one I need to either have it open at the side or alter the direction of the stamping and element placement as  this card opens to sit on the side . . . oops!

Butterfly Birthday Card

Today I am sharing the purple card I talked about in a previous post. This was nice and easy to make. I used Distress Stains on lightly misted watercolour paper. I started with Seedless Preserves, then Dusty Concord followed by Shaded Lilac. I made sure to overlap each colour a little bit. I laid down a good amount of each colour and then blended with my finger from darkest to lighest and then from lightest to darkest.

Once dried with the heat tool I flicked water over the top, waited around 10-15 seconds and then mopped up the excess water with paper towel before drying with a heat tool. I coloured a small scrap of paper in the same colours and used a Carl punch to cut a butterfly.

I stamped my sentiment with a Hero Arts stamp and used silver embossing powder. When I heated the embossing powder it melted into the back ground :S. I don't know if it was becaue of the watercolour paper or if it was because they powder was some old stuff my mum gave me lol. I cut a V at the end and then using another Carl punch I cut some mini suns out, as you can see I cut too close to the edge with one :(

I used foam squares to adhere the strip to my white card base and Glossy Accents to adhere the butterfly. I then used a Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Silver to decorate the card and butterfly with some dots.

Well this has to be the cleanest and simplest card I have made :) I really love this one lol.

12 Cards of Christmas T!m Holtz Style Card 10

So this one ended up being a real challenge. Cannot tell you how many different things I tried with it lol. I kept wrecking my tape or the image on the tape. I can also tell you gold leaf looked horrid on the back :). My 8 year old helped by deciding the placement of the bow and beads. Little artist in the making :). Here is my inspiration from T!m...

Card 10


We first off with this one my packaging tape was MIA lol so my daughter nicely got me some on town. I have at least 2 rolls hiding in the house somewhere all ready... but what can you do? lol.

I was making the tape images one at a time so I actually ended up making about seven images all at once to make sure I could try  different techniques and have standby's in case I wrecked them some more :) lol.

To start off I didn't have any facets (I did get some in the mail from ebay after I completed this card of course!) so I grabbed a couple of round buckle-ups and ties from one heart one mind. The paper pictured is a kaisercraft one but poor santa had gold leaf put behind him and you couldn't see him anymore lol.

I positioned my acrylic piece over a santa so that he was centred and  then cut a larger square around him. For the seven I did later I used a marker and drew a large circle around my image to cut out.

I then added my tape to the image. Make sure you put the tape over the side of the image you want to use. I made the image stick to the craft mat by making the tape larger. I the used my finger to "burnish" the image. Basically that means rubbing my finger or thumb over the tape til it is really well adhered to the image. I then cut the excess  tape off  and threw it in a bowl of warm water. Scary I know!

Make sure paper side is down soaking under the water and then use your fingers to begin rubbing the paper off. Try not to use your nails as this will scratch the image off the tape. As T!m says "rub til it squeaks". Make sure you get all the paper off then take out and dab some of the moisture off carefully.

This is where we say good by too this image as I killed it after the next step by trying gold leaf lol. Hello new image :) Another thing I learnt was definitely to adhere your tape to acrylic before doing anything else!  So use a small amount of glossy accents or a similar glue like diamond glaze etc on your acrylic piece and place over the image. The sticky side should be facing down and shiny side up as this is the side you add the tile to. Set aside for 30 minutes to dry and then flip the chip and image over. Carefully rub your fingers over the image to push any trapped spots of glossy out. Leave to finish drying. I used this technique to also make a smaller acrylic tile.

While that was drying I started on my background. I grabbed my Iced Spruce distress pad and covered a yellow piece of cardstock with it direct from pad to paper.

I then used the water flinging technique to add large droplets of water to my background and dried with my heat tool and then added Evergreen Bough distress stain to the edges with my ink blending tool.

I  repeated again with Festive Berries. Wow just realised I used the complete winter set on this tag :) Go me!

I grabbed a stamp I picked up for $2 at spotlight by fundamentals and my Evergreen Bough distress pad and flipped my image sideways to stamp a series of the image accross.

Off on a picture hunt seem to be missing some eep lo.. Ok sorry :( the pics MIA. So I will describe what I did next. I cut some letters with my cuttlebug using  two different fonts. I cut "Christmas" with the alphabet from the Holly Jolly giftset. I cut "Joy" from the Sizzix Sizzlits  Curls and Swirls alphabet.

I then got back to my ornament. I flipped it over and used a generous amount of Pearl Mixative and my distress tool to cover the back. Make sure to use a generous amount if you try this way or it starts to lift the image off the tape. I found the photo's Yay!

I used Multi-Medium Matte to glue down the the letters and then covered them with glossy accents. I left the "o" out as I had decided to replace it with another ornament.

I grabbed some thin red ribbon from my stash and looped some through my ornaments, leaving the tails nice and long. I made two bows, one small one larger. I adhered the bows with glossy.

I used regular tape to hold these on the back of the background so they could be pulled off and kept as ornaments and uses a small amount of repositional tape to stop then moving about too much. On reflection I would use some multi-medium or something like that  on the back of the ornaments after the alcohol ink to seal them. 

It still looked a bit plain so I grabbed a thin piece of tinsel from the christmas tree... lol. Four jump rings ,some beads and some tulle. I used beading tools and head pins on my three bead, the beads are two glass pearl 8mm beads and 1 Swarovski crystal, I createted loops and added a jump ring to each. With the last jump ring I opened it up wide and placed the tinsel inside and then added the three beads, red, crystal, red and closed it up.

I cut a thin strip of tulle, maybe 1"/2.5cm wide freehand and turned it into a bow. I glued this to the tinsel above the beads with glossy on miss 8's orders lol. And card done :).
