Mayzyarts Digi Jareth With a Little Creative Chemistry

Well it was my sisters birthday last week and so I had this digi from MayzyArts for a while now and I knew I wanted to use it when I made her card. If you click the link it takes you right to the digi :). I should have made it bigger than I did to make it a little easier to colour lol. I am a newbie with my copics so small bits are a real challenge. Also learning to colour a bit slower lol. I added some Atyou Spica to the blue in the cape for some sparkle and to make it look a bit mottled. On the upside this fit right in with my DT's theme this week!  Inspired by a movie  at Eclectic Ellapu.
Anyway I coloured Jareth with a combination of Copics and Promarkers (mostly copics except or the greys don't ow a lot of darker copic greys yet!). Funnily enough I didn't really have the colours I wanted to use in either so made do with what I had lol.
Then I went through two full sheets of glossy cardstock trying to get the background just right lol. I used a technique from Creative Chemistry 102. I then stamped some stars in platinum stazon from various stamp sets.
I used the regular pouncing technique with the same colours for the second piece to give it a bit of contrast and cut a piece of star dream paper to add a little shimmer and sparkle.
I used another CC102 technique to colour the various Idea-ology pieces. I really learnt a lot from these classes. Way more than I learnt in CC101 lol.
I stamped my sentiment onto one of my rejected background pieces using stazon, and then used a lifestyle crafts labels die to cut around it. I had to try to be very precise as there was only a little corner of the piece that had the colours I wanted on it lol. I then cut a piece of plain cs as a mat and went around it with B00 and then chipped sapphire distress ink.
To assemble the card I adhered everything with doublesided tape except the sentiment, that has foam tape, and the idea-ology pieces are adhered with Matte Accents (I added ribbon to the key). I added some pearls that I coloured with B18 to match the card. I added a layer of glossy accents to the crystal ball and when that dried I added another layer for dimension :)

I have to say this card was a huge challenge for me to make. I especially didn't want to delve into the darker greys and blacks too much as I thought this might make everything rather manish and as the card was for my sister I didn't want that lol. It took me three or four days of serious work to get this one done! I will add the colours I used when I find the list haha!

Creative Chemistry 102 Patina + Monoprint

Not only does this have patina but the background was made using leftovers from a monoprint attempt lol. Waste not want not.
Ok so this is my final finished project of the night! The glue is still drying lol. Hope you have enjoyed the creative journey and have learnt new things, I sure have!

Creative Chemistry 102 Not So Industrial + Tarnished Silver

The title says it all... It's a bit girly to be industrial maybe? lol. Love the tarnished silver technique! If you love all things distress you really need to try the Creative Chemistry Courses! Awesome!
Industrial + Tarnished Silver
I originally left the tag and flowers off but it wasn't girly enough haha! But it looks much better with the extra touches!

Creative Chemistry 102 Patina + Rusted

This is my first finished project for Creative Chemistry. It features mostly the rusted technique from day 4 but I also managed to sneak in a little patina on the wings from day 4. I added some idea-logy and accoutrements. I think the hearts and florishes as well as the button flower Girly Grunged it up nicely :) Not used to working in browns for a female type project though.
So that's my first effort. I have another drying under some weight lol. Best go get it done!

Rusted Tag
Rusted Elements

Next I probably went a bit lighter than I should have for this, oh and I shouldn't have simmer misted the background! A bit too sparkly for pics! Unfortunately my glitter isn't showing up well. Maybe II should have taken the photo's later so the light hit the tag lol.

Creative Chemistry 102 Day 2 Part Two Girly Grunge Style

Wow is it ever hard work trying to keep up... Falling more behind by the minute haha! For this next technique I need a stencil with a bit more open space . . .
Stamping
Not sure if this was supposed to be as beaded up as it was... Might have been the stencil I used? It was a KaiserCraft one.
Ink Monoprint
I really like how this one turned out :) Can't wait to finish it off! :) It is my second attempt though because I kept mixing up the instructions! Now I take my pad to the table so I can watch and do at the same time haha :)

Paint Monoprint

Ok time to get cracking on day threes post. I am struggling with day three... Have yet to attempt day four and day five is up! *insert swear word of choice here!* ;) lol

Creative Chemistry 102 Day 1 Part Two Girly Grunge Style

Back again with part two. I am so in love with the Eroded metal technique Tim showed but I don't have any metallic Distress Paints yet. Boohoo! So can't show that yet of course so we will skip onto the 5th Technique for day one... Well of course I got mixed up and did the first one slightly wrong, Hence the faded out resist . . . So I gave it another go! Oh and yes I stamped upside down! Oops lol...
Stamp Resist Attempt 1
Stamp Resist Attempt 2
The next technique I forgot I was going girly so I did man type colours but with the clocks I decided to layer another colour on top. And ok, so it doesn't look very industrial... lol but the others do!
Industrial Take 1
Industrial Take 2

I had forgotten to take pics of these so I have fallen behind in my blogging :( Trying to play catch up! It's going to be a long night haha!

Creative Chemistry 102 Day 1 Part One Girly Grunge Style!

Because we are packing so many techniques into one class I have decided to break my posts up into 2 sections. I won't go into detail on the techniques though as they are all in Creative Chemistry 102. You need to complete 101 before 102 but it's well worth it. Especially if you are just starting out with Tim Holtz' Distress Products! As a matter of fact I redid all of 101 again to get in the groove for 102! I have decided to try and girl it up for CC02 as it is something I struggle with sometimes. I can make man cards easy peasy with distress but sometimes find it hard to make feminine ones...

Here we go with the first technique.
Distress Paint Marbling
Wow am I ever falling in love with distress paints! Onto the next technique! I overworked his one a bit, but I do like how it turned out with some hints of colour peeking out.
Coloured Crackle
I had to think outside the square for this one as I don't have what tim used so I took my tattered florals die and some black Shrinkies :)
Altered Surface
Well that's the mid point for today Hope you like my efforts so far! My fave out of all I have done so far is the first one! It's so pretty! :)
