This is my first attempt at this Technique on Saunders Waterford cold pressed 300gsm paper.
I also used Windsor & Newton Cotman watercolours and Plaid One Stroke and Semco brushes as well as the same stamp used in class with Stampin' Up ink.

Distress Paints and Cabbage Roses CAS Style
Hiya Just a quick one today :D This is a card I made for someone who wanted some nice simple Thank You cards. The card started with me playing with the first set of Distress Paints when I got my hot li'l hand on them (the rest of the collection should be winging its way across the seas as I write this!) and doing some practicing on a craft tag. I used a Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous flourish stamp all over the tag with Picket Fence Distress Paint. I had used the tag for something else and had about half left so I got the idea to use it up. I admit I have a box full of "Creative Play" type things I need to start using more and this project was perfect for one.
Something I don't do very often is go CAS, what can I say I like to add things lol. But all I had was half a tag and a vague idea. If you know me, you know I love butterflies, so out came some butterfly dies. I chose the smallest from Spellbinders Nested Butterflies Two and Lifestyle Crafts Nested Butterflies and cut a few from my tag.
I then grabbed Tim Holtz' Movers and Shapers Tickets die and what was left of my tag and cut the smallest ticket for my sentiment. For the background I used white cs and the Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Cabbage Roses. I also did something I haven't done before which is to stamp a split type sentiment. I stamped just a note on the front and then on the inside to say thank you with archival ink. I finished it off by adding a bunch of baby pearls.

Creative Chemistry 102 Patina + Rusted
This is my first finished project for Creative Chemistry. It features mostly the rusted technique from day 4 but I also managed to sneak in a little patina on the wings from day 4. I added some idea-logy and accoutrements. I think the hearts and florishes as well as the button flower Girly Grunged it up nicely :) Not used to working in browns for a female type project though.
So that's my first effort. I have another drying under some weight lol. Best go get it done!

Creative Chemistry 102 Day 5 Girly Grunge Style
So here we are at day 5 with a few more fun techniques. I have only done four so far as I don't have everything so off we go :)
Next I probably went a bit lighter than I should have for this, oh and I shouldn't have simmer misted the background! A bit too sparkly for pics! Unfortunately my glitter isn't showing up well. Maybe II should have taken the photo's later so the light hit the tag lol.
Lets get our shabby on next :)
Last but not least I love this effect!
So thats my 5 days of Creative Chemistry 102! I learnt a lot of cool new tricks! :) Now I just need to get them all finished off girly grunge style! :)

Creative Chemistry 102 Day 2 Part Two Girly Grunge Style
Wow is it ever hard work trying to keep up... Falling more behind by the minute haha! For this next technique I need a stencil with a bit more open space . . .
Not sure if this was supposed to be as beaded up as it was... Might have been the stencil I used? It was a KaiserCraft one.
I really like how this one turned out :) Can't wait to finish it off! :) It is my second attempt though because I kept mixing up the instructions! Now I take my pad to the table so I can watch and do at the same time haha :)

Clementine Pattern Play Day 1
Well I guess everyone knows by now how much I like to combine my challenges. This card rolls a few into one and includes the Pattern Play class I am doing at Online Card Classes. I started with this sketch from Freshly Made . . .
I started by picking my papers, I did this with two thoughts in mind, two green challenges, a monochromatic challenge and a friendship card all rolled into one. Anyway the papers I chose are from the Cosmo Cricket Clementine stack.
I then used the Tim Holtz Butterflies On The Edge die on the pp with the leaf shapes. Then I trimmed it down to fit across the top of the card and taped it to the back of the darker green on green circle pp. I then used a strip of white cs as a colour break.
Next I cut the lightest paper with another movers and shapers die, I used the larger of the two tickets. I stamped inside the ticket with Mowed Lawn Distress ink with a Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz sentiment with my new fiskars stamp press. Not sure what set as I grabbed a bunch of random stamps to craft at a friends lol. To make the words stand out a little more I embossed them with Ranger Superfine clear embossing powder.
I then grabbed a Hero Arts stamp that to stamp on the darker green pp. I used Pine Needles distress ink and embossed with the superfine again. I then taped the butterfly/darker paper onto my white card base. To add the ticket I used foam tape foe some dimension.
I thought it looked a little plain. So I decided to bling it up with some bling from the bottom of the stamp set. Everything is better with a lil bling!
If I was remaking this card I might have tried swapping the lighter herringbone pp with the darker green circles. But at least I followed the rules for choosing paper :)

Hero Arts Time to Stamp + Weathered Clock For A Fast Card
I stamped the background for this card using Tea Dye Distress Ink. I chose tea dye becaue I don't use it very often lol. I used the Sizzix Tim Holtz Weathered Clock die with some Core'dinations Distress Kraft Core but not sure which colour the cs is lol (Wish they printed it on the back ;)). I think it looks like Vintage photo from pics online. I then sanded the clock and hands and added vintae photo diestres ink around the edges.
From the same cream cs I cut a medium size Lifestyle Crafts label from the labels set and inked the edges with my ink blending tool in tea dye followed by vintage photo. For some reason no matter hat I did I couldn't get it to look like the backgound lol. I stamped the clocks over the top with tea dye, They are very feint so they don't really show up in the pic, and misted with water because everything looked way to dark. I then stamped the Tim Holtz Sentiment from the Urban Chic Stampers Anonymous set with Tea Dye and embossed it with Ranger Superfine Clear Embossing powder.
I used a brown brad to put the clock hands together and then I used foam tape to raise both the sentiment and the hands up for some dimension. Oh and I adhered the clock with Multi-Medium Matte.

A Special Delivery In Shades of Green
I started off with this cute Penny Johnson stamp called A Special Delivery which I stamped in Jet Black Archival on Neenah Solar White cs.
He is coloured using greens and a hint of yellow in there for good measure lol. The colours I used are Green Gold #268 for his hair, Light Yellow Glaze #104 for his shoes, Leafy Green #112 for his jacket and hat, Dark Phthalo Green #264 for his jacket trim, hat bill and shoes, Light Green #171 for the teeny bit of his shirt that is showing and May Green #170 for his pants. His face is Light Flesh #132. I used the same colours for the presents with some Light Phthalo Green #162 added in as well. The puppy is coloured in Raw Umber #180. I coloured the dog using short strokes to try and add some texture to the dog, didn't quite work out though lol. Colouring is a huge learning curve!
For this background I used my stampamajig to position the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous numbers stamp from the Fairytale Frenzy set. I used my markers again (was wishing I had taken my Big Brush markers to my friends that day lol) to colour the stamp, then misted with water before stamping the first one. As I was using the pitt artists pens on a pretty hot day the ink dried out pretty fast on the first one. Thank goodness for my stampamajig! Had to stamp it three times lol. But I learnt after the first one colour fast and mist extra!
I mounted each layer onto some green swirly and shimmery cs picked up from a local cheapy shop. Then mounted the whole lot on a white cs card base slightly smaller than the green as I liked how it looked without an extra white border. I actually coloured him twice as the first time the green went a little onto the yellow star. So I was going to cut a star and foam tape it but silly me stamped on the original image :( lol.

12 Tags of 2013 March
I have been a bit slack lately in doing the 12 tags, but this month I decided to give it a go even though I don't have most of the supplies Tim used lol. All good improvisation is my thing ;) First up I don't have the rabbit so I used my movers and shapers butterflies in the ornamental die from some DCWV paper. Then I edged it in some Frayed Burlap distress ink. Next instead of the sheet of tape I just laid strips of regular tape across my cs. I didn't have tinsel so I used wool for that soft fluffy feel. I learnt after covering the first butterfly to only take one strip of tape backing off at a time to keep it nice and sticky!
I don't have the tapered fringe die, but I do have the Martha Stewart Fringe Scissors so I grabbed some green Craft Core and got chopping. Then I sanded with my sanding block and added some frayed burlap. I made two layers this way.
From the same DCWV stack I grabbed a piece of paper to use as y background, as I had used a busy one around the butterflies I opted for one with a minimal pattern. The paper was no where near the colour I wanted so I added loads of ink around the edges. I started with Tumbled Glass followed by Broken China, Chipped Sapphire and finally Frayed Burlap for the grungy look.
Next I added some crinkle ribbon my sister got me as a present. It was pre-coloured so I just added some frayed burlap over the blue to tone it down a little. I tied the ribbon on and added that layer to the base with foam tape anywhere I could fit it around the woolly pieces and then added my "grass."
I don't have the metal foliage pieces so as I was doing a larger format than a tag I thought I would use a drink can (soda can) and cut it with the movers and shapers florals. I wasn't happy with the size of one of the flowers so I cut some smallest ones from the tattered florals die. I used my fingers to shape each petal. For the smaller one I cut a small slit in between each petal first.
I don't have the new paints yet but they are so on my want list, right at the top! I used the Adirondack Dabbers instead. For the largest flower I used a combination of Pool, Aqua and Clover, the middle is Sunset Orange with white and the brad is Sunshine Yellow (I am in the middle of an argument with the yellow as it was almost solid!).
For this flower I used a combination of Pink Sherbet and Aqua. and then the middle is the same as before. To turn the flowers into pins I added 2" pins to the back with glossy accents. I laid the pointy ends on a foam blending pad as a pillow to keep the pins in the right spot while they dried.
I cut the banner free hand as again I don't have the die. I stamped a flourish from Stampers Anonymous on the banner with tumbled glass. I then took my blending tool and used colours over the banner in the same order I did the outside piece. I stamped a sentiment from Mpress and then added some foam tape behind the middle part and double sided tape at the ends and stuck it at the top of my panel.
I then mounted the whole lot on a white card base the same size as the panel. I didn't want the card base to show so when I cut my panel I made it card front size (saves having to decide what colour card will be showing around the edges lol). Anyway that's my take on this months challenge, I hope you liked it :)

Maya Road Around The World Paint Splatter Cards
The backgrounds for these cards were made using a technique a friend of mine saw in a magazine. Basically you load a toothbrush with paint and run your finger over the paintbrush to get little speckles of paint all over your paper, three or four shades of the same colour work well. Let me tell you it makes a huuuuuge mess lol . . . Best course of action is to make a bunch all at once. That way you have them ready to go as needed. It's supposed to look like whatever that stone they use to make kitchen benches is lol . . .
After the paint has dried, lay a mask over the top of your piece (for this series of cards I used Tattered Angels Tattered Traveler compass) and use Versamark, Perfect Medium etc over the whole piece of cardstock. Remove the mask and then use clear embossing powder over the card. Once that has cooled swipe a white ink pad (non permanent) over the previously masked places for extra contrast.
I have used Maya Roads All Around the world stamp set for the first two cards. Tim Holtz's Sizzix Cogs die on the last card and some Stampers Anonymous stamps. The middle card has a sentiment from Stampin' Up. The sentiments on the last two cards are die cut from Lifestyle Crafts Dies. Any q's feel free to ask in the comments :)

Something Messy/Grungy
I wanted to make a card for the Simon Says Stamp something messy challenge. I always get messy crafting no mater what I make so I could just about enter anything lmao however in keeping with the spirit of things I decided to work in browns with gelatos and a lil distress thrown in to grungify and mess everything up a bit . . .
For the background I started by stamping the blueprint type stamp from Tim Holtz' Stampers Anonymous Steampunk stamp set using Picket Fence Distress Stain on a manilla tag. I then used gelatos in Gold, Butterscotch and Chocolate randomly on the tag and blending with a paintbrush and my finger. I did this for a couple of layers to build up the colour I wanted. I then used Black Archival ink to stamp the blueprint image again.
As you can see my stamping wasn't the straightest lmao. Messy stamping? I then trimmed the tag and used some Vintage Photo and my blending tool around the edges. Next I cut some Movers and Shapers Cogs from Grungepaper and Kaisercraft Timeless Classics papers from the 12" stack. I used a different colour gelato on each paper cog and blended with a lil water and my finger and glued them to the grungepaper cogs with Glossy Accents (next time I will glue then cut silly me lol).
Then from more manilla I made a small rectangle big enough to fit my saying and used my three gelatos to colour it and then edged it in Vintage Photo. I stamped my sentiment from the Urban Classics Tim Holtz set in Archival Black. I distressed the edges of both the background and sentiment using Tim's Tonic Edge Distresser. I chose some embellishments from Tims Cogs and Muse Token ranges to finish of the card. The sentiment and largest cog are adhered with foam tape, the rest of the cogs with glossy accents and the muse token has two jump rings from a pack of Facets to attach it to the saying.
The first pic of the card I took was without flash the next one is with flash. The cards colours are somewhere in between the tw, but the flash version allows you to see all the details properly.
Not 100% sure of this card so I will most likely try another "messy" card in the next couple of days.
