Kissed By an Angel with KaiserCrafts Made With Love

It's the Purple teams turn over on Eclectic Ellapu and this weeks theme is use a die cut heart. Mine ended up getting very hidden so I added some extras lol. I used a whole bunch of die companies on here . . . Hope there is no rule against mixing them up!
I started with KaiserCrafts Made With Love Collection (I snapped this up on clearance at a LSS), selecting the papers I wanted to use. I then did some colour matching with my Copics and Promarkers and stamped Connie Fongs Kissed By An Angel Sweet Pea stamp with Memento ink onto Neenah Solar White.
I then die cut the image and my first two layers using Spellbinders Ornate Artisan Tags and Accents. Now here is where I go into trouble as you will see in the pic. I hadn't actually crafted at home for a while and didn't realise my craft sheet wasn't totally clean :( As I edged my image with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink I swiped up some blue off my mat :( For the bottom layer I snipped off the long end pieces before I inked the edges as you can see in the pic. I used foam tape on under the image and double sided tape under the matting piece.
Next I die cut Lifestyle Crafts Heart Insert surrounded by a Nesting Lace Heart die from red foil cs. I saved all the little hearts for other projects as well as adding some to this one. I had to use the metal shim in my Ebosser to get this die to cut through the thick card stock. I glued the heart down with Matte Accents.
Next I used a Sizzix Sizzlit die called Ribbon Insert. My cat loves Sizzlis, if she sees one around she thinks it's fair game and claws it! Good thing they still work with claw marks in them :)Very hard paper to take a pic of! I inked the edges of this piece with Milled Lavender. I used foam tape on this layer as well.
To hide my mess I grabbed some I Am Roses flowers and coloured them with distress stains in Milled Lavender, Wild Honey, Spun Sugar, Squeezed Lemonade and Barn door. I then spritzed them with homemade pearl mist (come on a girl's gotta have some sparkle, right?).
Next up I cut a piece of pp for the background and rounded the corners of the pp and the card base as well. I inked the edges of both with Milled Lavender and adhered the background with doublesided tape. I used matte accents to adhere my flowers and twizzles to the card as well as the cute lil hearts I saved from earlier.
Not totally sure how I feel about this one. I do know I think my colouring is coming along nicely :) Practice makes perfect right? Well till I kill it by swiping the wrong colours about the place! Flowers make everything better is becoming my motto I think . . .

Mayzyarts Digi Jareth With a Little Creative Chemistry

Well it was my sisters birthday last week and so I had this digi from MayzyArts for a while now and I knew I wanted to use it when I made her card. If you click the link it takes you right to the digi :). I should have made it bigger than I did to make it a little easier to colour lol. I am a newbie with my copics so small bits are a real challenge. Also learning to colour a bit slower lol. I added some Atyou Spica to the blue in the cape for some sparkle and to make it look a bit mottled. On the upside this fit right in with my DT's theme this week!  Inspired by a movie  at Eclectic Ellapu.
Anyway I coloured Jareth with a combination of Copics and Promarkers (mostly copics except or the greys don't ow a lot of darker copic greys yet!). Funnily enough I didn't really have the colours I wanted to use in either so made do with what I had lol.
Then I went through two full sheets of glossy cardstock trying to get the background just right lol. I used a technique from Creative Chemistry 102. I then stamped some stars in platinum stazon from various stamp sets.
I used the regular pouncing technique with the same colours for the second piece to give it a bit of contrast and cut a piece of star dream paper to add a little shimmer and sparkle.
I used another CC102 technique to colour the various Idea-ology pieces. I really learnt a lot from these classes. Way more than I learnt in CC101 lol.
I stamped my sentiment onto one of my rejected background pieces using stazon, and then used a lifestyle crafts labels die to cut around it. I had to try to be very precise as there was only a little corner of the piece that had the colours I wanted on it lol. I then cut a piece of plain cs as a mat and went around it with B00 and then chipped sapphire distress ink.
To assemble the card I adhered everything with doublesided tape except the sentiment, that has foam tape, and the idea-ology pieces are adhered with Matte Accents (I added ribbon to the key). I added some pearls that I coloured with B18 to match the card. I added a layer of glossy accents to the crystal ball and when that dried I added another layer for dimension :)

I have to say this card was a huge challenge for me to make. I especially didn't want to delve into the darker greys and blacks too much as I thought this might make everything rather manish and as the card was for my sister I didn't want that lol. It took me three or four days of serious work to get this one done! I will add the colours I used when I find the list haha!

My First Mini Album with Prima, Kaisercraft and Some Distress - Front

Hiya everyone. Sorry I have been so absentee lately, but it's been mega busy last month lol. I can finally share one of my mega projects though yay! I Don't want to inundate you with it all at once so I will start today with the front cover. First off the reason I have been waiting to post this is the recipient hadn't opened it yet! lol. Now that she has we are off and running. I probably won't be able to tell you where every little thing came from now though as I only have the pictures to go by an who wants to make detailed list and interrupt the flow of crafting?  Ok Ok I know some people do but erm... I am not that organised lol.
Well I am sure you all recognise that die! Tim Holtz' Sizzix Caged Bird die :) I added some blue flatback pearls to cover the holes. I filled the holes with glossy acccents so they would stay put. The paper on the cover is from the new Prima Divine stack cut with the Sizzix Sizzlit Ribbon Insert. I think it's my new fave die lol. Can't wait to make some cards with it :). The yellow flower on the cage is one I won from prima :) The rest are I am Roses Flowers coloured with distress stains and spritzed with home made pearl mist.
The doily dies in the background are all various Lifestyle Crafts Dies. I have the mini doilies as well as various bigger ones. Love them! The lil bird is from Tim holtz (my die cut bird was not co-operating :(...) Idea-ology Adornments. Chain is just some cheap stuff off ebay as are the jump rings.
What have I missed? The words are Thickers that started out cream. I added a couple of coats of distress stain over the top to turn them white. The lace  I got off facebook :) It was cream and I coloured it with stains. Thats the only unfinished part of the book as I ran out. I will have to buy more and colour it and send it over so the book can be finished.
So that's it the cover of my finished mini album. Quite an achievement for me as I have never finished such a big project before :) This is my DT project for Eclectic Ellapu as well as it contains plenty of 'B' items. Bird, Bird Cage, Blue, Butterfly and Bead Spray. I thought there was one more but I forget what it is lol. All cutting was done with my Ebosser.

Pattern Play Day Four With Candy Lane

As I have done one of the techniques before not so long ago (Willow Holding Baby) I decided I needed to choose a different technique for todays card. I haven't decided yet! Ugh so I am about to go for a little flip through my pp's. So I found some in my 6" pad from Kaisercrafts Candy Lane collection. I also found a 12" piece in my Antique Rose stack. Not sure if I am going to use that yet . . .
First I have trimmed down my stripey piece and am going to choose some stickles to decorate it. If anyone wants measurements they can ask in comments :)After some deliberation with miss 8 who decided she wanted to help we have chosen Eucalyptus Stickles to add some pizazz to our pp.
Next I chose a pink tone on tone spotted scrap piece from the same stack as an accent. I used my Martha Stewart Pop-Up Butterflies border punch along one edge and then trimmed it down so I just had a little edge to add adhesive to. I have kept the little butterflies that fell out just in case I want to use them.
Next I used a piece of green spotty paper and stamped it with Picked Raspberry Distress ink and added a piece of scrap cs to the back. I stamped the sentiment from TPC Studio with my stamp press. I then traced over dreams with an Emboss pen and embossed with Ranger Clear embossing powder. I added some of the itty butterflies I kept earlier. I am going to add some Glossy accents to those butterflies too when I find it lol. Will add another pic when I do.
This card drove me nuts, I kept losing everything. What didn't roll off my work surface was blown away by the fan because it;s very hot her right now lol.

To The One I Love with Midnight Fairytale

Hi guys and gals :) I have a card to share that I made for the Make My Monday challenge. This is only the second time I have actively made something for a challenge lol. Usually I just work whatever I am making fit into challenges or go with anything goes . . .

I started with a circle cut with lifestyle craft dies and stamped a fairy from the Papermania Midnight Fairytale stamp set. I then used the metallic green, blue and purple gelatos to create a water colour wash for the background. I covered the whole background with purple then blended in the blue and green.

I then traced the lines of the fairy with Faber-Castell Pitt Artist pens and then used similar coloured gelatos to make a watercolour palette to fill her in. i then used a homemade mix of gloss Multi-Medium and iridescent Medium over her wings. I used Seedless Preserves and Evergreen Bough to edge the circle. The doily was inked with those colours as well as Tumbled Glass and then spritzed and blotted to lighten the colour. I just love the subtle dreamy colours so pretty in real life!

The I am Roses flowers were coloured with the same three ink pads again. I smooshed them on my craft mat and used a waterbrush to colour them. I then took the metallic gelatos and ran the flat Tim Holtz waterbrush over the colour corresponding to the flower and brushed along the edges of the petals to darken them and give them a hint of shimmer. All flowers and twizzles are stuck down with glossy accents.

The label is a Tim Holtz mover and shaper coloured with three metallic gelato colours. The sentiment is from the Craft Lounge Love notes set. I had trouble deciding on a sentiment for this one. I have a lot of birthday and thank you cards. I wanted to make an anniversary card or something like that anyways. I have no to my wife sentiments and nothing quite fitted. I thought this was pretty versatile as it could then be used as a birthday, anniversary, valentine or even wedding day card.

The doily was layered on a square scrap I couldn't bare to throw away because the paper was so pretty, it actually had a circle I used on another card cut out of the middle! I was going to use it as a frame but it looked so good behind the doily I used it lol. Both papers are from the Prima Fairy Belle 6" pad. The background piece has been distressed around the edges with seedless preserves on top, tumbled glass on the sides and evergreen bough on the bottom.

On a side note I am halfway through my studies yay and am now on a bit of a break so hopefully I can get some important things done as well as do some guilt free crafting! I have signed up to a new card class starting in a couple of weeks too called Stretch Your Stamps, I can't wait! Check it out, it starts on July 9th but you can sign up anytime. If you sign up before or during class you get a discount code for some awesome online stores :) Bonus!!! I will be away for the first few days though so I will have to play catch up lmao. . .

Can We Say Gelatos?

Have a few cards, most sans sentiments again lol, to share with you all :) The title says it all. I have been playing with my Faber-Castell Gelatos. Trying different combos, mostly just messing about :) So here goes.

This is the first card I created with the Gelatos. I mixed different blues and a lil green, including the shimmer blue and green, to make water and then blended it all upward to make a paler sky. I added in some white to make some subtle clouds.

Oops I forgot to take a pic of the finished card lol. It's just mounted onto a white card base :) The whole thing was made using gelatos, even the stamping. The stamps are Technique Tuesday All Aboard and Prima Almanac.

The next card is a gelato background with stamped gelato butterflys in pinks and purples. I also used stazon, acetate and the labels movers and shapers die.

To make the butterflys I laid down some gelatos in stripes using the same colours as the background and then an acetate layer stamped with stazon and glued with good ole glossy. I used the Bo Bunny Gabrielle stamp set.

Next up is the rain man... Lol. I started with a layer of silver and gold gelato around the edges of a tag, then I used a waterbrush to move the colours around and blend them towards the middle.I then added a layer of butterscotch and chocolate the same way.

I then stamped Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous clocks with gathered twigs distress ink and nibs with tea dye. The rain man and words are stamped with archival. Yay I finally have archival!!! :) The umbrella has been stamped again and fussy cut. Both the umbrella and label are adhered with foam tape.

Phew and we are only half way there. I decided to split my post other wise it would get way too long lol. Loving gelatos, they are so fun to play with. They hardly look like they have been used yet I think they will go a long way :)
Stay tuned for part two

Just a Quick Post

Just wanted to share really quickly a quick card that could be used as a sympathy card or a get well card maybe.

I stamped the background with seedless preserves, the stamp is a Fiskars Cherry Blossom Background from the Asian Inspired set. I stamped off on a scrap before stamping onto my card. The flower flourish is a Tim Holtz stamp from the Urban Chic set. I triple stamped the image, each on offset from the other, without reinking.

I stamped my sentiment and then cut both the flower flourish and the sentiment with lifestyle crafts labels dies, I backed each with purple cs that matches the mid tone of the stamping. The sentiment is adhered with foam tape to lift it off the page.

Creative Chemistry 101 Day Ten

Last day :( and only one pic to upload today and wow . . . I have to say I was not a fan of distress stickles until today . . . But after using the rock candy for this technique I have changed my tune. They are sooooo pretty!! :)

So here is my last project for Creative Chemistry 101. The pics aren't showing all the sparkle or you wouldn't see the image behind.

But you get the idea. the little glimmers you can see are all over the image :)

I had to choose girly colours for my last one as I have used such of variety of colours over the last two weeks I wanted something that looked very girly... Mothers day card perhaps? OOO ideas happening. I need to finish a couple of cards off then you will be bombarded by new blogs, hopefully one for each day of CC101. Don't forget it's not too late to take the classes and you don't need to have everything ranger to do them, Tim actively encourages you to use your stash!!!

Boxes Galore and Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone :) Hope you all have had or are having a wonderful day!

I have been making boxes, boxes and more boxes! All the boxes I have made come from the SVGCuts One Piece Box set. I cut all my boxes in my ecraft. I had to make a couple a smidge smaller but all good, they still cut great.

For the ones that had extra pieces I used SCAL 3 to open the box file and a new project tab to open each of the extras. I ungrouped my extras as some had 12" long boxes and regrouped them smaller and then copied them to my box tab. I then clicked ctrl A to select all pieces and grouped them together. By doing this I was then able to resize all my pieces at the same time and maintain scale. ( I didn't end up using the boxes with extras tho lol)

I made quite a few boxes 4 in the lacey pattern and then a couple of others. So here are the lacey ones. The light pink one caught on my ecraft on the way out and as I was not near by I had to do some creative fixing lol.

My oldest daughters box in shades of blue/greens.

My youngests. Her flowers are different colours as she picked what she wanted :)

Mine is in shades of purple. My fave colour!

Next up are some boxes my daughter took to school, another purple one and a red one decorated with scraps of paper I had laying around.

This first one went a little awry so had to fix as best I could. I gave that one to a friend for his mum as she had given us a couple of lifts lately :)

This one was for my youngest daughters teacher last year and my current training placement teacher :)

This was for her current teacher :) As I said just decorated with some scraps I had.

This next box was made on bright green cs, anyone who knows me knows I am not a fan, it was a test cut. It didn't work 100%  needs to be shrunk a lil but with some creativity I hid the fold mark! lol My daughter saw it and decided she wanted two boxes! I used some scraps of paper I had to decorate it.

This last box is another different style. I found some lovely fairy paper in my scraps and used that to embellish the box.

All flowers are I am roses and have been coloured on the tips with distress stains and then misted with home made pearl mist. One flower on the green box has been coloured with the evergreen bough distress ink pad. The big pink flower on the last box I cannot remember what I used on it as it was a while ago. I think it is Stampin' Up ink. The stamp set is XOXOXO from The Paper Studio

Hope you like my personalised valentine boxes! For the most part they a colour specific to each person and filled with goodies! :)
