Captivated By Silence Goth Card

Ok, so I got an order for a goth birthday card the other day and this is my attempt at one. It's good because this month for the Purples at Eclectic Ellapu the focus is Lady's Birthday. After trawling through my stamps I found this Sweet Pea stamp by Anna Marine called Captivated By Silence, unfortunately I'm not sure they have it anymore . . . I coloured her with copics.
As I wanted some matching papers I had to hand create one to pick up the purple in the colouring, so I took a ruler and copics in 100 an V09 and alternated stripes. I also used a piece of paper from Kaisercrafts Violet Crush 6" stack. The doily behind the image is a die from Lifestyle Crafts, all other dies are from Spellbinders, including the D-lite sentiment which I cut from black cardstock and coated with Glossy Accents and adhered to another hand coloured piece of cardstock. The flowers are from I Am Roses and also coloured with copics. I also used plenty of foam tape between the layers for some dimension.
Happy to say my customer was very happy :) Thanks for stopping by.

Flowers On The Beach With Some Beach Cottage

Ok so I have been a little slack on the blog front for the last couple of weeks. I need to have a day where I just write blogs and have them all nicely scheduled! lol That being said this is just a quick fly by post today of my daughters birthday card from last year.

I used Creative Imaginations Beach Cottage 6" stack.
Connie Fongs Flowers on the Beach by Sweet Pea Stamps with a little tearing for a distressed look.
Archival ink and Distress Stains
Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers Mini Tickets by Sizzix and foam tape.
I Am Roses rose coloured with Broken China Distress Stain
Crafty Secrets Bouquets of Joy sentiment stamp
And to finish it off a cute little random fishy charm I had in my stash.

I didn't want to add too much to this card as I wanted the mermaid on the pp to be visible too.

A Little Gelato Love with Fleur Botanique

Hi everyone. It's that time again, time to post a new card for Eclectic Ellapu. The theme this week is Butterflys and Flowers. I got this stamp free with a magazine from England... So glad it was in my local newsagent! I had to have this gorgeous stamp. The magazine is Cardmaking and Papercraft and it's from the Fleur Botanique collection..
I coloured the background using gelatos like a watercolour. The flowers are done in Guava and Bubblegum for the pink and Lavender and Grape for the purple. The leaves are Pistachio, Green Tea and Lime and the background is Metallic Mint.
I used a spellbinders nested scallop die for the next layer, for the pp I used a lavender gelato wash to give it a hint of purple and then I cut a white square to mat it all on before adding it to my pink star dream card base.
I then stamped some butterflys in archival ink and water coloured them with the gelatos. I couldn't decide if I wanted to stamp them with black or coloured archival, so I did both and then chose the black ones :)

I took some white I Am Roses and coloured them with the gelatos to match the flowers in the background. The colours came out much darker on the flowers though lol. I misted them with homemade shimmer mist for some sparkle.
Finally I used a Tattered Banner by Tim Holtz to add my sentiment which was actually part of a journal block and coloured just the part I wanted with Black Soot Distress Marker. I added some Guava Gelato to the edges and smudged it with my finger.
So that's my card for this weeks challenge :) It's Mothers Day in may and so I am going to give this to my mum :) Her colours are red and aqua so I hope she likes this anyway, Haha!

Creative Chemistry 102 Not So Industrial + Tarnished Silver

The title says it all... It's a bit girly to be industrial maybe? lol. Love the tarnished silver technique! If you love all things distress you really need to try the Creative Chemistry Courses! Awesome!
Industrial + Tarnished Silver
I originally left the tag and flowers off but it wasn't girly enough haha! But it looks much better with the extra touches!

A Little Mom's Garden With Some Antique Rose Thrown In For Good Measure!

So my mum hasn't been feeling to good lately. A couple of months ago she had a spell in hospital and since then she hasn't felt the best . . . I wanted to make her something to cheer her up, raise her spirits a little. I could have just bought her a bunch of flowers but I like to make her things she can keep because she really appreciates them and likes to keep them on show :)
I was lucky to get a smile, she doesn't like having her pic taken much lol. I used the roses in the Mom's Garden svg kit from SVG Cuts, click the link to go right to it :) Mum loves turquoise and red. Not an easy combo for me! lol I used my Ecraft to cut all the roses and leaves from Canson cs in red, cream and green. I then cut 3" stars from fundamentals 1 to add to the bottom of the roses to give them a bit more greenery. I edged the cream roses with peacock feathers. I then used clear Smooch Spritz for a little sparkle.
Mom's Garden Roses
My ecraft blade was getting quite blunt after all that cutting so when I tried to cut the vase it kept pulling at the perforations. So instead of making the vase I bought one and covered it in pp from KaiserCrafts Antique Rose 12" paper pad. I inked the edges with some more peacock feathers and added some pretty lace trim tape I coloured with peacock feathers distress stain. I used some metallic trim for some bling bling bling!

I then grabbed a bunch of I am Roses well roses of course ;) I tried several mediums for the red, smooch spritz, dylusions, stains, in the end I went with the distress stains. I added a good amount to each one then I spritzed with the clear/pearl Smooch Spritz to get the colour to move and blend. I adhered them with matte accents, added some bead sprays and some twizzles... It all sounds rather simple but let me tell you it took quite a few hours to make!

My mum loved it! She said it's Beautiful, but she kept asking me what the occasion was lol. I said it's just because! lol Anyhow I hope you like my first go at the Moms Garden Flowers :)

Little Ray of Sunshine with Letterpress Celebrations

Hi everyone :) This week at Eclectic Ellapu for the purples challenge we are using song titles as inspiration! I was going to do bridge over troubled water as a sympathy card but then I looked at something I got with a new toy and everything clicked into place... We have a craft chain in Australia called spotlight and I am lucky enough to have one in my town.
Anyways they were clearing out Letterpress's :O and accessories so I snapped one up! I also got some inks cards and envelopes for letterpressing. The letterpress papers expensive and hard to buy here so I am going to cannibalise the envelopes as card fronts :) Best of all my sis bought it for me for my birthday :)
I was looking through my craft stuff looking for stuff to take to my friends and the Celebrations plates jumped out at me and my mind just clicked . . . I absolutely adore this song and it is perfect for this challenge! The song is called Little Ray Of Sunshine by Axiom. I watched an interview with Brian Cadd recently and when asked about the song he replied that the song was about the little girl of some friends who were going through a bitter break up. You can read what he said here. The group have never revealed who she is and I think it takes a whole lot of integrity to keep that secret over 40 years! The words and pins are from the Baby Letterpress plates. I ran the letterpress through the cuttlebug, it didn't go all the way through I had too run it back the opposite way... Anyone else had this happen?

Next I chose an image from the Peter Rabbit stamp set made by Leisure. I chose the mother and babies image and coloured it with Copics. I then die cut the image with Nesting circles by Lifestyle Crafts.
I also cut a scalloped circle. I colour matched a copic (RV25)to the letterpress ink I used  and coloured around the diecut. I then layered the two together with foam tape under each layer.

I then used copics to colour  the edges of some I am Roses and some bead string to co-ordinate with the card. Oh and a butterfly I decided to leave off the card lol . . . I used some glue to adhere the embellies. Wasn't happy with my ribbon/flower placement  but the glue dried to fast for me to fix it haha!
FYI checkout the month long blog hope we will be having at Eclectic Ellapu during next month :) Loads of awesome prizes! Check it out here.
Anyway I hope you enjoyed my first attempt at using the Letterpress! Been a little under the weather the last few days :( I think I have the flu! Time for more sleep . . .

PS a quick tip! The gold letterpress ink takes quite a long time to dry....  I didn't realise this and wrecked quite a few by stacking them on top of each other after I thought they were dry enough. Lesson Learned! I imagine the silver would be the same.  But I will still use the  background. I will just add a raised image to the middle to cover up the words! lol

My First Mini Album with Prima, Kaisercraft and Some Distress - Front

Hiya everyone. Sorry I have been so absentee lately, but it's been mega busy last month lol. I can finally share one of my mega projects though yay! I Don't want to inundate you with it all at once so I will start today with the front cover. First off the reason I have been waiting to post this is the recipient hadn't opened it yet! lol. Now that she has we are off and running. I probably won't be able to tell you where every little thing came from now though as I only have the pictures to go by an who wants to make detailed list and interrupt the flow of crafting?  Ok Ok I know some people do but erm... I am not that organised lol.
Well I am sure you all recognise that die! Tim Holtz' Sizzix Caged Bird die :) I added some blue flatback pearls to cover the holes. I filled the holes with glossy acccents so they would stay put. The paper on the cover is from the new Prima Divine stack cut with the Sizzix Sizzlit Ribbon Insert. I think it's my new fave die lol. Can't wait to make some cards with it :). The yellow flower on the cage is one I won from prima :) The rest are I am Roses Flowers coloured with distress stains and spritzed with home made pearl mist.
The doily dies in the background are all various Lifestyle Crafts Dies. I have the mini doilies as well as various bigger ones. Love them! The lil bird is from Tim holtz (my die cut bird was not co-operating :(...) Idea-ology Adornments. Chain is just some cheap stuff off ebay as are the jump rings.
What have I missed? The words are Thickers that started out cream. I added a couple of coats of distress stain over the top to turn them white. The lace  I got off facebook :) It was cream and I coloured it with stains. Thats the only unfinished part of the book as I ran out. I will have to buy more and colour it and send it over so the book can be finished.
So that's it the cover of my finished mini album. Quite an achievement for me as I have never finished such a big project before :) This is my DT project for Eclectic Ellapu as well as it contains plenty of 'B' items. Bird, Bird Cage, Blue, Butterfly and Bead Spray. I thought there was one more but I forget what it is lol. All cutting was done with my Ebosser.

Valentine For My Daughter

I made a quick Valentines card for my youngest daughter today. I worry that she feels left out as I was pretty sure her older sister would get a valentine (she came home with a red rose clutched in her hand), and my BF got me a card and some choccies and woohoo I am getting the Tim Holtz Cargo Case off him as well :) and I wanted her to have a special day too . . .

So while my BF picked her up from school and bought her a coke slushee and some chips and then took her to the park I set to creating a quick card just for her. I grabbed a Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Eyelet Heart die and a Nesting Heart die and cut me some hearts :) I measured the largest heart I used and cut a square card slightly bigger than the die from hot pink cs (her fave colour).

I used some Hero Arts white embossing powder with some stamps from The Paper Studio then grabbed some I am Roses flowers. I coloured the edges of the flowers with Picked Raspberry Distress Stain and then spritzed with my home made mist (about halfway down for a how to). I used the stain on the tips of the flowers again to make them darker. Not happy the colours don't match to well but was rushing before she arrived home lol (not like she notices these things :)).

How awesome is this pic? I just discovered the super macro feature on my camera lol. The hearts are double sided taped together and then I used foam tape to adhere them for some dimension. The flowers are adhered with glossy accents :)

Then I used my ecraft to cut a whole heap of red hearts in different sizes. I stuck them all around the room including decorating the television. LM noticed them as soon as she walked in the room and thought they were brilliant :), she has appropriated them for her own room now lol.

Her little face when I gave her the card was overjoyed :). So worthwhile knocking up a quick card to see that look plus I got a great big hug! Doesn't get better than that :) Just goes to show that Valentines Day can be for everyone no matter how big or small :)

Valentine Heart Card

I thought I would share a card I made for Valentines. Most of the work has been done by using Lifestyle Crafts heart shaped dies :)

My base was made by folding red cs and carefully lining up the fold with the top of the Nesting Lace Hearts die so that instead of getting two hearts I retained the fold. Next I cut a black Nesting Scallop Heart followed by a red Heart Doily (actually that die is what started this card :)) , an itty bitty Nesting Eyelet Heart and then a regular Nesting Heart.

I used some stamps but of course at this moment forget which brands lol, . . . I stamped the base layer and the top layer with Fired Brick distress ink. The sentiment was stamped with black archival. I coloured some I Am Roses with Dylusions and then sprayed them with home made shimmer spray.

I make the spray I use the most with Pearl-Ex in Macro Pearl, Micro Pearl and Pearl White. I have a 100ml bottle I use to make up the spray  because I use it so much lol. I have to say I usually add double Macro Pearl because I love it's bling bling bling effect lol. As Pearl-Ex needs a binder added I usually start with warm water and add either  Gum Arabic or or a feww drops of Glossy Accents and give it a good shake before adding any pearls.

I finished the card by adhering all the layers together with double sided tape, placing the flowers and adding some twizzles (the flower stems twisted around a paintbrush handle or an awl) and gluing them down with Glossy Accents. To finish off I added some Black Enamel Accents spots.

My only beef with the card is next time I make one I need to either have it open at the side or alter the direction of the stamping and element placement as  this card opens to sit on the side . . . oops!

Anyways Thanks For stopping by :)

I Used a Doily!!!!

A personal challenge of mine has been to incorporate doilies into cards and pages. I managed the page a while back but had yet to incorporate one into a card. Well . . . Today was the day :) Yay! Being Tuesday I was creating at my friends today :) and took the doilies along with me.

I started with an image from Mpress stamps that I had already watercoloured with my faber castell markers onto watercolour paper. I used some Peacock Feathers distress stain around the edges of the image and then set about finding some papers to go with my image. This is always the hard part for me lol. I found some in the Kaisercraft Bonjour 6" stack and used this as my main piece.

I coloured a white doily using a combination of the two pinks I used to colour my roses, middle purple pink 125 and pink madder lake 129, I scribbled them on my ranger non stick craft sheet and spritzed with home made shimmer in perfect pearl colour, then I used a Tim Holtz water brush to colour it. I did the same for the flowers from I Am Roses only this time I used one colour at a time. I used white and very dark brown cardstock to layer my image on as well as added some foam tape for dimension. The flowers are glued down with glossy accents and so are the twizzles. The sentiment is from an inkadinkado stamp set.

Next up I am going to show you a couple of quick and simple cards I made in an effort to be more productive and also do some simpler less detailed cards. The first is made with some fiskars birthday stamps, K & Co paper and coloured with Faber Castells.

Next up is a nice boys card made with more K & Co paper and Fiskars Bug stamps. Coloured again with Faber Castells. All edges on this card and the previous card are done with distress inks :)

Hope you enjoyed my cards today :) I had fun making them. I have another post I am about to write so i best get crackin'

Doily Card With My Ecraft

Hi all Just wanted to share a card I made with my ecraft....

I found a circle doily type svg on a free blog. In SCAL 3 I took the svg and copied it and flipped it and laid it slightly over the first copy and then merged or did a union... or both? Sorry lol exhausted at the moment or I would try it again lol. Anyway by doing this I got my card base.

I cut a white circle to fit my card top and another for inside. I ran the top circle through my cuttlebug with a sizzix texturz plate. I used a lifestyle crafts die to layer the sentiment on white and then black cs. The flowers are I am Roses, I used black soot distress stain to colour them and then used home made shimmer spray to make the colour bleed down.

The butterfly is made using ten movers and shapers Tim Holtz Butterfly's and one piece of thin chip. I sprayed each of the butterfly's with shimmer spray and then adhered one to the base. The rest I ran through the cuttlebug in an embossing folder. I used a thin layer of matte accents on the body of each butterfly to glue the layers together. I added the second circle on the inside for writing on :)

Love the way this card turned out!

Boxes Galore and Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone :) Hope you all have had or are having a wonderful day!

I have been making boxes, boxes and more boxes! All the boxes I have made come from the SVGCuts One Piece Box set. I cut all my boxes in my ecraft. I had to make a couple a smidge smaller but all good, they still cut great.

For the ones that had extra pieces I used SCAL 3 to open the box file and a new project tab to open each of the extras. I ungrouped my extras as some had 12" long boxes and regrouped them smaller and then copied them to my box tab. I then clicked ctrl A to select all pieces and grouped them together. By doing this I was then able to resize all my pieces at the same time and maintain scale. ( I didn't end up using the boxes with extras tho lol)

I made quite a few boxes 4 in the lacey pattern and then a couple of others. So here are the lacey ones. The light pink one caught on my ecraft on the way out and as I was not near by I had to do some creative fixing lol.

My oldest daughters box in shades of blue/greens.

My youngests. Her flowers are different colours as she picked what she wanted :)

Mine is in shades of purple. My fave colour!

Next up are some boxes my daughter took to school, another purple one and a red one decorated with scraps of paper I had laying around.

This first one went a little awry so had to fix as best I could. I gave that one to a friend for his mum as she had given us a couple of lifts lately :)

This one was for my youngest daughters teacher last year and my current training placement teacher :)

This was for her current teacher :) As I said just decorated with some scraps I had.

This next box was made on bright green cs, anyone who knows me knows I am not a fan, it was a test cut. It didn't work 100%  needs to be shrunk a lil but with some creativity I hid the fold mark! lol My daughter saw it and decided she wanted two boxes! I used some scraps of paper I had to decorate it.

This last box is another different style. I found some lovely fairy paper in my scraps and used that to embellish the box.

All flowers are I am roses and have been coloured on the tips with distress stains and then misted with home made pearl mist. One flower on the green box has been coloured with the evergreen bough distress ink pad. The big pink flower on the last box I cannot remember what I used on it as it was a while ago. I think it is Stampin' Up ink. The stamp set is XOXOXO from The Paper Studio

Hope you like my personalised valentine boxes! For the most part they a colour specific to each person and filled with goodies! :)
