Baby Shower Decorations Made with SVG's from SVG Cuts and My Grafico using an Ecraft

Well I posted a couple of the boxes I made the other week for the baby shower and now I am going to share with you some pics of the table and banner :) All coloured plain cs id from Canson and the white is HP printer cs.
Full Banner
Banner Up Close
I used MyGraficos SVG Favors Gift Box by Sherry K for the Treat Boxes and Baby Boy for the onesie and cake topper backgrounds. I cut everything but the butterflies with my ecraft and the butterflies were cut on my Ebosser using lifestyle crafts dies. The Cheesecakes and Butterfly cakes also have a cupcake wrapper from Lifestyle Crafts around them. I had to re-size them by snipping quite a few bits off the end because they are bigger than our standard muffins lol . . .

Gift Boxes all Stacked Up
I used the Bundle of Joy SVG kit from SVG Cuts for the prams and the rocking horses and various papers such as DCWV and K & Co.
SVGCuts Pram
SVGCuts Rocking Horse
I made two of each of the rocking horse and pram, my mum liked them so much she too a pram home with her :) Here is a pic of the whole table.
So that was the baby decorations I made for My cousins Baby Shower. Happy To announce the baby arrived safe and sound in January! Now I know its been a long time between blogs lol, sorry *ducks head and blushes.* Truth is with School holidays and Christmas, a family holiday and a baby being born blogging got left by the way side. DT duties start again next week and I also have a few other projects to post that I've been working on so I am going to at least 1 scheduled post a week lol. That's my goal anyhow!

Baby Shower Gift/Favour Boxes and Polish Snowflake Decorations

A good friend of mine is having a baby shower . . . So I offered as my present to make decorations and Gift Boxes. This works out well because the Purple's challenge this week at Eclectic Ellapu is "Anything But A Card." I grabbed Favors Gift Box Collection 3  by Sherry K from My Grafico and made 20 baby carriage boxes using my ecraft. The ribbon on top was a free downloadable svg (if it wasn't an svg I used inkscape to turn it into one) file from DCWV a few months ago. I used canson cs for the boxes.
I then set about making some hanging ornaments. I thought the Polish snowflakes were lovely but they looked hard to make. I set about finding a tutorial on Youtube and found a very easy to follow one by BrookWrite14.So far I have blue and purple. I have made two sizes so far and I need to make a couple of white ones as well.

In the next few days I am making some table decorations, cupcake decorations and banners/bunting. As well as working on two scrap layouts :O Hopefully I have some more goodness to share soon!

A Little Mom's Garden With Some Antique Rose Thrown In For Good Measure!

So my mum hasn't been feeling to good lately. A couple of months ago she had a spell in hospital and since then she hasn't felt the best . . . I wanted to make her something to cheer her up, raise her spirits a little. I could have just bought her a bunch of flowers but I like to make her things she can keep because she really appreciates them and likes to keep them on show :)
I was lucky to get a smile, she doesn't like having her pic taken much lol. I used the roses in the Mom's Garden svg kit from SVG Cuts, click the link to go right to it :) Mum loves turquoise and red. Not an easy combo for me! lol I used my Ecraft to cut all the roses and leaves from Canson cs in red, cream and green. I then cut 3" stars from fundamentals 1 to add to the bottom of the roses to give them a bit more greenery. I edged the cream roses with peacock feathers. I then used clear Smooch Spritz for a little sparkle.
Mom's Garden Roses
My ecraft blade was getting quite blunt after all that cutting so when I tried to cut the vase it kept pulling at the perforations. So instead of making the vase I bought one and covered it in pp from KaiserCrafts Antique Rose 12" paper pad. I inked the edges with some more peacock feathers and added some pretty lace trim tape I coloured with peacock feathers distress stain. I used some metallic trim for some bling bling bling!

I then grabbed a bunch of I am Roses well roses of course ;) I tried several mediums for the red, smooch spritz, dylusions, stains, in the end I went with the distress stains. I added a good amount to each one then I spritzed with the clear/pearl Smooch Spritz to get the colour to move and blend. I adhered them with matte accents, added some bead sprays and some twizzles... It all sounds rather simple but let me tell you it took quite a few hours to make!

My mum loved it! She said it's Beautiful, but she kept asking me what the occasion was lol. I said it's just because! lol Anyhow I hope you like my first go at the Moms Garden Flowers :)

Something For Teacher With Sandylion Stickers

I thought I would try for a more CAS project this week and I had the perfect stickers for the theme. The only trouble I had was finding a table svg so I found this free file here and imported it into SCAL 3. As it would have cut all those lines I made a shadow layer and cut that out instead. I used a white cs base with a very light cream matte on top of that. Anything darker made the table fade into the background. The stickers are all from Sandlylion and have foam dots behind them already to pop them off the card. You can see the shadows from them being raised off the card below.
Both the table and the blackboard background are cut from a brown batik paper that I thought would work well as wood :). I used Lifestyle Crafts nesting squares to cut the table and blackboard background. I stamped a Thank You from an Inkadinkado set with Cotton White Opaque Stazon. I added a square of cs under the batik layer of the blackboard to reinforce it so I could add some very thin foam tape underneath. The twine is from hemptique

The best bit is I have enough stickers left in this set to make a girly back to school or graduation card :) I hope you like my more simplified project this week for Eclectic Ellapu !

PS sorry I have been so absent of late! I have had a whole lot going on plus I just got alcohol markers and have been busy learning a whole new skill set. I started with promarkers and trias, then I got lucky and someone was selling an almost complete set of Ciao's on ebay that got here on Tuesday. I have been colouring up a storm! Need to make use of some of those images so I can show you!

Ecraft Angry Birds Card Using FREE Svg's

A young relative of mine had a birthday a couple of days ago and he is really into angry birds. I searched the net and found a bunch of angry bird svg's free by The Lady Wolf. As his cake was going to be the red and yellow birds I decided I would make those two as well. I opened them in SCAL 3 and resized them all as one before cutting and pasting each different colour section into  new window. In hindsight I wish I had made them a little bigger lol. Also cutting two birds at once was fun because then I had to sort out their respective pieces lol.
Having played the game before I wanted the background to look a bit like the game as well rather than using patterned papers. So I used a free grass svg from Pigtails and Paper Trails and another free svg from Bird. I'd seriously recommend checking out what else these lovely ladies have! I just saw the grass under the clouds Bird has. I hadn't grabbed it yet :O lol. To assemble the back gound I cut a piece of blue cs to the same size as my card and taped it down. I used tape on the straight edge of he grass only so I could slide a cloud down there. I taped the clouds down and then used foam tape on the birds and banner to pop them off the card a bit :)

Getting Into This Challenge Thing!

I have a few challenges I am interested in doing at the moment so I am actively going to combine a few. One is two squares, a circle, a sentiment and ribbon, another is ribbon and buttons (lets see of I can pull that off) and another is embossing on embossing type of thing.

First up I have coloured a chipboard frame in Magenta Hue Archival and its inner piece in French Ultramarine Archival. I then covered them in Perfect Medium and UTEE. I heated them up and while still hot tossed more utee on top to give three layers in total and a nice smooth surface. Then I took Versamark and inked up some stamps from Stampendous called Butterfly Beauties and with the inner piece replaced in the frame I stamped across both pieces. I used Hampton Arts embossing powder from the pastel pack in plain pink and blue.

I chose three co-ordinating papers from the DCWV French Country stack. With my Ecraft I cut a doily svg that I got for free from somewhere. Unfortunately I have lost the link back to the website :( With my bug and a Lifestyle Craft Nesting Rounded Squares I cut the 2nd biggest one from a different paper.

With the third paper I cut small pieces to go behind some tearing I did on the square piece. I ripped two small lines on opposite sides of the paper and used a water brush to soften the paper in that area to make it easier to bend back. I then used another co-ordinating paper behind the tears.

Buttons buttons . . . I have  a couple hundred but do you think I can find some to match what I have lol. Maybe I should have started with buttons lol. Anyway I found one and here it is in situ lol.

I made a flower by gluing the dcwv papers to grungepaper and cutting the second biggest flower from Tim Holtz' Tattered Florals Sizzix die. In hindsight I should have just used the papers as they are quit thick on their own. I then used one whole flower, one with one petal removed and one with two removed. I used the two petals off the last flower to make the centre. I was going to use a button but it just wouldn't work lol. I edged the flower petals with tumbled glass and warn lipstick using the ink blending tool to get a softer look.

Now I am on the hunt for ribbon and a cute tag as well as a sentiment. Getting close to the wire now lol. Challenge ends in 3.5hrs. Gettin sleepy but I will win!!! I found a tag I got from SVG Cuts and used some scraps from the card to cut the two layers in my ecraft and then inked their edges. I used some ribbon from Martha Stewart in the top layers hole. I am going to adhere them together with foam tape so the base sits under my chipboard frame.

Next the fun bit, working out where everything goes lol. I used triple foam tape behind the centre square of my frame and glossy on the ribbons, button and flower. Double sided tape for everything else.

Simon Says White On White

I decided to try my hand at this challenge on the Simon Says Blog. It's not as easy as it sounds and my card so did not come out as I had envisioned it lol . . . I wanted it to have pretty 3d butterflies and things for example lol.

I grabbed some different cardstocks to use and set to work. I used plain white as my base (9" x 4.5"), I then cut a 4.5" frame using my ecraft out of pearl cs and put the frame aside for another time and used the middle bit lol. Next I used a Lifestyle Crafts Doily Die to cut a doily out of white glitter cs from an American Crafts Christmas Glitter stack. I then used the pearl again to cut a Nesting Circle Doily, followed by an acetate Nesting Circle. I also cut four butterfly corners for the Corners It Kit.

I adhered the first pearl cs to my square base with tape and then glued the butterfly corners down with Matte Multi Medium. I then glued the doily on. Onto my acetate circle I stamped a Fiskars Wishes All Around Best Wishes stamp (had to do it a few times as I kept lining in up wrong ;) lol). I then hid some foam squares I had cut in half under the stamped scallops and adhered it to my small nesting lace doily. I used more foam tape and adhered it to my card and it was done.

That didn't stop me from trying to add some butterflies though lol . . .  They just wouldn't work for me :(. I have some leftover pieces from this card so maybe I will try again but add a different shape for the greeting. I do love the shadow the greeting gives onto the white though :)

Valentine For My Daughter

I made a quick Valentines card for my youngest daughter today. I worry that she feels left out as I was pretty sure her older sister would get a valentine (she came home with a red rose clutched in her hand), and my BF got me a card and some choccies and woohoo I am getting the Tim Holtz Cargo Case off him as well :) and I wanted her to have a special day too . . .

So while my BF picked her up from school and bought her a coke slushee and some chips and then took her to the park I set to creating a quick card just for her. I grabbed a Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Eyelet Heart die and a Nesting Heart die and cut me some hearts :) I measured the largest heart I used and cut a square card slightly bigger than the die from hot pink cs (her fave colour).

I used some Hero Arts white embossing powder with some stamps from The Paper Studio then grabbed some I am Roses flowers. I coloured the edges of the flowers with Picked Raspberry Distress Stain and then spritzed with my home made mist (about halfway down for a how to). I used the stain on the tips of the flowers again to make them darker. Not happy the colours don't match to well but was rushing before she arrived home lol (not like she notices these things :)).

How awesome is this pic? I just discovered the super macro feature on my camera lol. The hearts are double sided taped together and then I used foam tape to adhere them for some dimension. The flowers are adhered with glossy accents :)

Then I used my ecraft to cut a whole heap of red hearts in different sizes. I stuck them all around the room including decorating the television. LM noticed them as soon as she walked in the room and thought they were brilliant :), she has appropriated them for her own room now lol.

Her little face when I gave her the card was overjoyed :). So worthwhile knocking up a quick card to see that look plus I got a great big hug! Doesn't get better than that :) Just goes to show that Valentines Day can be for everyone no matter how big or small :)

Creative Chemistry 101 Day Eight Finished Projects

I have two projects for day 8. One is bright and cheery the other is in more earthy tonesof brown and orange. A nice Autumn card considering it is Autumn in Australia right now :) maybe that's why I keep reaching for the orange. Could also be all the Harmony day learning the kids have been doing at school lol.

My Autumn colours card with a grungeboard flower. The leaves were cut with my ecraft from book pages and distressed.

The butterflys have had some triple thick painted over the top. It did react with the inks of course but I likes it :) The sentiment is from the Fiskars Butterfly Dreams set. "Butterfly kisses and birthday wishes"

And yes . . .  More Bling lol. Can there ever be too much?

12 Tags of 2012... March and... More Orange?

Hi all, slipping into my class blogs is my march tag/card. I figured I best get it done lol. Busy busy month so far and it's only going to get worse haha. I decided on flowers this month as I always do butterfly's! lol

I took my tattered florals die and punched 3 of the second smallest flower out of grungeboard. I should have used grungepaper as the board is not very malleable. . . Next Time! I cut itty bitty bits of three colourful papers (making sure to get the bright image in mmy bits) that to be honest I didn't really like. . . and used them for my mosaics. I used Hampton Art embossing powders from the brights in yellow, purple and red as my mosaic grout then covered the itty papers with glossy.

From the same tattered florals die I cut the smallest flower with a cut up soft drink can. I inked these with various alcohol inks then shaped into a more 3d shape. I glued them in the middle with glossy accents. I added some pearls I coloured with the same colours of inks to the centres of the flowers.

I used my ecraft to cut leaves from the fundamentals 1 sd card using old book pages. I inked the leaves with various colours of distress stain and then crumpled them into a little ball like I did for the 12 cards of christmas. I then uncrumpled and dried them and went back with my blending tool and darker colours of distress ink.

The yellow flower is adhered with glossy, the purple with 1 foam square and the red flower with 2 stacked foam squares. The background was done using a tim holtz sizzix embossing folder, the movers and shapers ornamental die and ripe persimmon distress ink and then all placed onto a creamy yellow card base edged with mustard seed distress ink.
Thanks for stopping by.

PS The empty spaces top and bottom have been left so I can add a sentiment as required depending upon the occasion :)

Doily Card With My Ecraft

Hi all Just wanted to share a card I made with my ecraft....

I found a circle doily type svg on a free blog. In SCAL 3 I took the svg and copied it and flipped it and laid it slightly over the first copy and then merged or did a union... or both? Sorry lol exhausted at the moment or I would try it again lol. Anyway by doing this I got my card base.

I cut a white circle to fit my card top and another for inside. I ran the top circle through my cuttlebug with a sizzix texturz plate. I used a lifestyle crafts die to layer the sentiment on white and then black cs. The flowers are I am Roses, I used black soot distress stain to colour them and then used home made shimmer spray to make the colour bleed down.

The butterfly is made using ten movers and shapers Tim Holtz Butterfly's and one piece of thin chip. I sprayed each of the butterfly's with shimmer spray and then adhered one to the base. The rest I ran through the cuttlebug in an embossing folder. I used a thin layer of matte accents on the body of each butterfly to glue the layers together. I added the second circle on the inside for writing on :)

Love the way this card turned out!

Stampendous Baby On Board Page

Hi everyone. Sorry it's been a while, loads of studying going on as well as helping my mum and volunteering at school etc :). That's not to say I haven't been crafting, I have been working on a secret project that I will be able to share in a couple of weeks :) and another that I will share at the end of April. Can't share them before the recipient receives them!

So I had been looking for a project to use the Stampendous Cling Thinking of You set. I decided to enter the Stampendous texture challenge and was going through the list of my stampendous stamps and thought I know just the one :).

Then I went through my photo's and found these three from when I was pregnant with my first child way back in January 1996. I had already formed a vision in my head of a page of circles. Well not really a vision just an idea lol.

I stamped the medallion onto my waffle texture cardstock with Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Faded Jeans Distress inks. I then used the same stamp and my Versamark pad on plain cs and embossed with Ranger Fine Detail Clear Embossing Powder for texture. After heat embossing I cut these with my Lifestyle Crafts Circle dies using some florist tape to hold the dies in place.

I cut my photos with various sizes of scallop circle dies... Yes I know they aren't scalloped anymore. I changed my mind... I just felt the three scalloped photo's looked out of place. This is a page in progress shot showing the scalloped pics and temporary placement of circles....lol The circles are held in place with repositionable tape.

After that I had to take everything off because my cat had decided it was a nice bed while I was sleeping and left kitty hairs everywhere! lol.

I used my three colours of distress ink starting from the lightest, tumbled glass, and my distress tool and completely covered each embossed circle. I then used broken china, leaving a small area of tumbled glass visible in the centre and finally faded jeans around the edges. I did this for many many stamped images so I could then cut them smaller and have the various shades on each piece.

Using inkscape and a jpeg image I found online and a youtube tutorial I created an svg file of a pregnant lady to finish off my page. I cut her out with my ecraft and again stamped her with the medallion and embossed her. I used the same three distress inks to tie her in with the rest of my page. For added dimension each of my ladies is adhered with foam tape as are some of the pics and dots.

Here is another  view of the other side. My words are glittered american crafts thickers for even more texture.

I craftily hid a journaling spot between the top and middle photo. one of the spots just big enough to add the required info to, I didn't want it to detract from the page itself by adding ribbons and things so I just created a little area to stick a circle that could be removed :).

Hope you enjoyed my page, Thanks for looking and

Boxes Galore and Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone :) Hope you all have had or are having a wonderful day!

I have been making boxes, boxes and more boxes! All the boxes I have made come from the SVGCuts One Piece Box set. I cut all my boxes in my ecraft. I had to make a couple a smidge smaller but all good, they still cut great.

For the ones that had extra pieces I used SCAL 3 to open the box file and a new project tab to open each of the extras. I ungrouped my extras as some had 12" long boxes and regrouped them smaller and then copied them to my box tab. I then clicked ctrl A to select all pieces and grouped them together. By doing this I was then able to resize all my pieces at the same time and maintain scale. ( I didn't end up using the boxes with extras tho lol)

I made quite a few boxes 4 in the lacey pattern and then a couple of others. So here are the lacey ones. The light pink one caught on my ecraft on the way out and as I was not near by I had to do some creative fixing lol.

My oldest daughters box in shades of blue/greens.

My youngests. Her flowers are different colours as she picked what she wanted :)

Mine is in shades of purple. My fave colour!

Next up are some boxes my daughter took to school, another purple one and a red one decorated with scraps of paper I had laying around.

This first one went a little awry so had to fix as best I could. I gave that one to a friend for his mum as she had given us a couple of lifts lately :)

This one was for my youngest daughters teacher last year and my current training placement teacher :)

This was for her current teacher :) As I said just decorated with some scraps I had.

This next box was made on bright green cs, anyone who knows me knows I am not a fan, it was a test cut. It didn't work 100%  needs to be shrunk a lil but with some creativity I hid the fold mark! lol My daughter saw it and decided she wanted two boxes! I used some scraps of paper I had to decorate it.

This last box is another different style. I found some lovely fairy paper in my scraps and used that to embellish the box.

All flowers are I am roses and have been coloured on the tips with distress stains and then misted with home made pearl mist. One flower on the green box has been coloured with the evergreen bough distress ink pad. The big pink flower on the last box I cannot remember what I used on it as it was a while ago. I think it is Stampin' Up ink. The stamp set is XOXOXO from The Paper Studio

Hope you like my personalised valentine boxes! For the most part they a colour specific to each person and filled with goodies! :)
