Watercolor For Cardmakers Intermediate Day Three - Lifting Card Three

Hi, this is my third card from the lifting class, I have one more panel but I think I want to maybe frame and keep that one...

I used some string from my stash, Spellbinders Fancy Framed Tags One and Archival Jet Black ink to stamp the saying from Hero Arts Birthday Sayings.
Thanks for looking.

Watercolor For Cardmakers Intermediate Day 5 - Lesson 4 Card

This was a simple panel to turn into a card as I didn't want to cover up too much of the flowers. I made my own banner and used a combination of Distress Inks in Worn Lipstick and Abandoned Coral to get close to my flower colour.

I also used some brads and a sentiment from Crafters Companion I got in one of their magazine deals that come with loads of stuff :)
Thanks for stopping by.

Something For Teacher With Sandylion Stickers

I thought I would try for a more CAS project this week and I had the perfect stickers for the theme. The only trouble I had was finding a table svg so I found this free file here and imported it into SCAL 3. As it would have cut all those lines I made a shadow layer and cut that out instead. I used a white cs base with a very light cream matte on top of that. Anything darker made the table fade into the background. The stickers are all from Sandlylion and have foam dots behind them already to pop them off the card. You can see the shadows from them being raised off the card below.
Both the table and the blackboard background are cut from a brown batik paper that I thought would work well as wood :). I used Lifestyle Crafts nesting squares to cut the table and blackboard background. I stamped a Thank You from an Inkadinkado set with Cotton White Opaque Stazon. I added a square of cs under the batik layer of the blackboard to reinforce it so I could add some very thin foam tape underneath. The twine is from hemptique

The best bit is I have enough stickers left in this set to make a girly back to school or graduation card :) I hope you like my more simplified project this week for Eclectic Ellapu !

PS sorry I have been so absent of late! I have had a whole lot going on plus I just got alcohol markers and have been busy learning a whole new skill set. I started with promarkers and trias, then I got lucky and someone was selling an almost complete set of Ciao's on ebay that got here on Tuesday. I have been colouring up a storm! Need to make use of some of those images so I can show you!

Creative Chemistry 101 Day Three Finished Projects

Hmm fitting three projects for day 3 lol . . . I had some trouble with the alcohol ink one but figured out what I was doing and saved one I hated :) It was as simple as too much blending solution.

The first is the embossing folder technique, I added some brads and a lock and key from the Idea-ology range.

The next is a lion on the alcohol inked background. All things considered her turned out pretty well :) I added some beads down the side for a bit of extra interest.

Another alcohol inked one. This one is on the background I saved. I kept it clean and simple just adding a sticker sentiment.

Told you these posts would be short and sweet! :) lol

Ok More Art Journalling Bursting Forth

So wow this is my fourth post today :)... I blogged the other week about showing some friends new techniques that they were not aware of or needed a refresher on. Most of it was to do with distress inks. But one was the toilet paper technique I saw on Creative Jump Start. Yes I have Truly Been Jump Started! lol...

So one of the main aims of my journal is to have a lot of the techniques I know or am learning in the one place as a point of reference. So I took my toilet paper piece I created that day and added it to my art journal! :)

I used Toilet paper 8 sheets To make the centre piece
Clock Texture Fade For the centre piece
Home made glimmer mist using Color Wash & Pearl Ex to spray both the centre piece and the background.
KaiserCraft Black & White Timeless For the clock
Lifestyle Craft Circle Die For the clock
Chipboard from a cereal box to make the clock sturdier and foam tape to add dimension.
Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Stamp To stamp the background with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink
A sharpie to write the words.
Brads for the clock centres and a clock charm and some chain to finish it off.

As I already had  the toilet paper centre it really only took me 20 minutes or so to complete my page. Am really getting into this art journalling now it seems :)
