Stretch Your Stamps 2 Over The Edge

So I am at the mid point, Day 6 of Stretch Yours Stamps 2 at Online Card Classes. I tried using this Mpress stamp for another technique but there wasn't enough open space for colouring. It looks great for this technique though :) I used Hero Arts white embossing powder, Distress Inks in Seedless Preserves, Festive Berries, Ripe Persimmon, Mustard Seed and a brown which I cannot remember lol. I need to start taking notes as I create! I died some white grosgrain with the distress inks to match and used staples to attach to the tag. The background is stamped with the same colours of ink stamped off so its barely there, using a Cherry Blossom stamp from Fiskars.

Stretch Your Stamps 2 Easy Watercolour Outline and Debossing

So we are at my second card from day 5 of Stretch Your Stamps 2 at Online Card Classes and I have chosen to use an Mpress stamp set, same flower again I know lol. It looks good what can I say?  I used Distress inks in Pine Needles and Aged Mahogany for the flower and Tumbled Glass for the border. I have used some Hemtique Twine and a Buttuerfly border punch I have for the itty butterflys. Really need to start writing on my dies what brand they are . . . I coloured the butterflys with Aged Mahogany so they tied in with the flower and sentiment from Whimsy Stamps.

Something For Teacher With Sandylion Stickers

I thought I would try for a more CAS project this week and I had the perfect stickers for the theme. The only trouble I had was finding a table svg so I found this free file here and imported it into SCAL 3. As it would have cut all those lines I made a shadow layer and cut that out instead. I used a white cs base with a very light cream matte on top of that. Anything darker made the table fade into the background. The stickers are all from Sandlylion and have foam dots behind them already to pop them off the card. You can see the shadows from them being raised off the card below.
Both the table and the blackboard background are cut from a brown batik paper that I thought would work well as wood :). I used Lifestyle Crafts nesting squares to cut the table and blackboard background. I stamped a Thank You from an Inkadinkado set with Cotton White Opaque Stazon. I added a square of cs under the batik layer of the blackboard to reinforce it so I could add some very thin foam tape underneath. The twine is from hemptique

The best bit is I have enough stickers left in this set to make a girly back to school or graduation card :) I hope you like my more simplified project this week for Eclectic Ellapu !

PS sorry I have been so absent of late! I have had a whole lot going on plus I just got alcohol markers and have been busy learning a whole new skill set. I started with promarkers and trias, then I got lucky and someone was selling an almost complete set of Ciao's on ebay that got here on Tuesday. I have been colouring up a storm! Need to make use of some of those images so I can show you!

First Finished Mixed Media Canvas With Loads of Idea'ology Part 2

Well this weeks challenge for the purple team at Eclectic Ellapu is It's a Mans World . . . So I finally pulled out all the bits and pieces I have been collecting plus a few more (like the buttons) and sat down and finished my first mixed media canvas.
I started this a while ago, here's the link to the original post for the base. I played and played and just couldn't get it to gel the way I wanted an packed everything up. But I needed something manly for this weeks challenge and as I haven't been feeling the best I was a bit short on ideas . . .
So grabbed this and decided tonight was the night it got finished! As you can see there are Tim Holtz Ideo'logy pieces by the boatload, wings, accoutrements, game spinners, cogs and gears, mini cogs and gears, the lock and key, word band and muse token. Oh and of course the mini film strip, it's the first project I have used it on and was one of the first things I knew was going on this canvas. Love that stuff :)
The playing cards are from Kaisercrafts Sears & Son range. A poker chip I coloured with a brown Sharpie. There is a domino and mini word (dream) that I inked with brown alcohol inks. There is some Hampton Art twine in brown tying on the word band. I am not sure where the time word came from I just know although it's thick it is super light (have a set of words like this?) and a random playing card charm.
I made this for my man who happens to like playing poker, hence the playing cards and poker chip. He also like steam punky type things (good thing I like steam punk and have been collecting). It was supposed to be finished a long time ago but better late then never right?
All dies are Sizzix Tim Holtz dies, weathered clock, cogs and gears, mini cogs and the cog boarder and have all been cut with either grungepaper or grungeboard. Around the edges you can also see some well inked tissue tape :)
I hope you enjoyed my first canvas.

Pattern Play Day 5 Paper Weaving With Crate Paper

For this card I used leftover strips from my first attempt at day one which I haven't posted yet lol. They just need sentiments. The strips are from Crate Papers Random paper pad. I used a scrap piece of cardstock to adhere my strips to as I weaved. I really liked Jennifer McGuire's Bonus day card she made by just rounding two corners of her shapes and decided I would do that on a larger scale. I followed this through with the card as well. The rounder is just one from my local Office Works store.
I kept wrecking the banners I was making for this card so in the end I totally changed what I was going to do and added buttons instead of the Enamel accents I was going to use. The buttons on the banner are tied  with pink Hemptique twine that I got in a cool multi pack of 10-12 colours. (I learnt I need to keep them in a zip lock back to keep them clean! They were getting filthy rolling around in the craft box I take to a friends lol).
I also added a little heart button in the corner. Wish I had had the twine brain wave before I glued it down lol. Anyways woohoo I did all 5 days of Pattern Play. I still have the other attempt at day one to blog about too :)
